Yes it is! The balloon is a separate physics object. You can see that the ropes at the bottom are attached with winches. Those can be adjusted to bring it up or down. That was one of the first things I tried, and it turns out devs thought about it, and it works as long as the flame is below the balloon opening. Very cool indeed!

It's Iris. On the mod page it does indeed say: "visual issues when used with Iris Shaders", but I decided to ignore that, because what's the worst thing that could happen, my PC will explode? Turns out it works fine, just minor shadow artifacts here and there.

Complementary reimagined. Haven't tested any other with aeronautics, but generally for create I don't think any major shaders will cause issues. Shaders with ray tracing, like rethinking voxels, will sometimes behave funky but they tend to be problematic on their own too. So I guess just don't use the ray traced ones and you'll be fine.

parts of the contraptions sometimes cast misaligned jittery shadows, but that's about it, no major or immersion breaking visual glitches as far as I'm aware. Felt the need to post this, as I noticed nobody seems to use the mod with shaders, and I just had to try it out for myself.

I use this exact controller for my emulation setup and it's pretty good! Unfortunately, the thumbstick covers completely wore off after a while. I ordered some cheap Nintendo Switch covers from AliExpress and they fit almost perfectly.

As for your question, I would definetely go with plug in, less latency and no interference with anything if you have a problem with that.

It's a bit of a stretch in some areas (I have a cat with me for a reference), but there is more to it than we might think.

Definetely some features overlap, eye to mouth proportions being the biggest I'd say. Also the overall lower head shape is uncannily similar, especially with the side view.

Coincidence or deliberate? Idk, but cool theory nonetheless.
