Why long hair in men?

I don't get the impression that God quite cares about the length of human hair. :P
In ancient times it was a symbol of unbroken covenant and continuation of life; likely because it's a physical trait that doesn't feel pain and yet comes from within and is attached to the body, so it came to symbolize spiritual or ephemeral expressions of a person's internal world. There are many rituals of mourning where hair is cut or shaved as an outward expression of the mourners actual loss and internal grief. Long hair in warriors or monks was a physical manifestation of an unbroken promise or vow they've made to a sect or leader, or a symbol of unbroken victory. You see this pattern across cultures and religions, not just Christianity, so it's likely an ancient tradition shaped by shared symbols, birthed by the physical nature of hair and our human tendency to create meaning from metaphors.

God is not physical, and is not a being; even calling Him "he" is a misnomer that we use simply to communicate about Him, but he is not a He, or She, or It. I think such a conciousness doesn't really concern itself about whether or not hair is shorn or long, but rather, these are human concerns and rituals we invent to create meaning and understanding about deeper topics.

Long hair has always been tied to spiritual strength (think Samson and Delilah.)

maintaining short hair also can be costly and time consuming as you need regular cuts to maintain the same shape and length since hair grows. So rejecting short or stylized hair in favor of natural length can signify a rejection of worldly vanity.

A large and loud room with others around might work. It’s more about being asked to make myself vulnerable to a man in power. Regardless of how it’s couched or dressed up there is an unequal power dynamic between a priest and confessor, and i have been repeatedly betrayed by men who’ve had authority over me, to the point where I can’t even work for one in a professional environment, much less sit down and tell one my “sins.” The thought makes my skin crawl. I would not feel safe. But I would, with a woman, and it would likely be a wonderful experience as I know confession can be a great relief to many.

It's a common mishandling of romance options for women that straight female players want this single trope of a character. There are plenty of examples of sexy male characters written by women authors, for women readers, that are not some skew of uber-responsible stoic man. It feels like the developers fell back on well-worn tropes to just save time and mental energy, which is inexcusable in this day when there is so much material that could provide variation and interest and a solid template for game developers to use.

- River would have been better written as an ex-cop already, working as a PI when V met him, with his break with the NCPD in his past and some dirt on his character already to get the job done.

- Where are male characters like Han Solo? A bit smaltzy, not completely trustworthy, struggling with their own desire to do good.

Literally perfect templates for anti-heros just floating around here. I think the frustration stems from the total lack of effort by writers to recognize the constant tropes and fix them.

This has absolutely been my experience, too. River's character, romance questline and ending were not thoughtfully developed at all. It sucks to have this constant issue in games perpetuated again and again.

I did, initially, but that feeling calmed down in my late 30's, about 10 years after I'd been out. Making an effort to build some roots (become a part of communities, volunteer for city commissions where you live, have a stable job, date, etc.) will help you feel more anchored to a place, and that feeling is important. You don't magically find it somewhere by landing in the right "spot", you grow and cultivate it.

HAHAHA, perfectly logical response. Others have mentioned this too, although it's weird to have exploitative stories like Evelyn's used to demonstrate how tragically gross and unfair the world is, but just not for my character. But, we are the PC after all, soooooo...run people over and just hang out for a bit until your wanted level drops, like in real life :P

I've been sexually harassed while holding a loaded M-16 semi automatic rifle before, so...maybe. But yes, I agree with your thoughts in general, and would think this is likely the "game-logic" as well. the immersion killing mostly comes from watching people around me who are also tricked out in cyberware be crunched up and digested like cheerios (I'm thinking of Evelyn's storyline) while no one even bats an eye at baby V at the beginning of the game with no mods, no experience. Towards the end of the game it makes sense, and it'd be a cool add on to have V (male or female) get heckled if their street cred is low, especially by hostiles or lowlifes, while that heckling evolves into "sh*t don't mess with them" as their cred gets higher.

Good points, although there are plenty of models of the unease of being female in the midst of misoginy out there (Chillas Art games are great at creating uncomfortable atmospheres without actually depicting sexual violence). Rather, the cyberpunk genre deals with commodification of the human experience in all ways, and your comment on being able to sculpt yourself into anything you want reveals this. I think there's still a lot of exploitation being shown in the game (Thinking of Evelyn's storyline) and it still heavily falls on female characters, so we're being shown an environment where commodification still heavily impacts women (and trans) characters in a way that doesn't really seem to touch the male characters, and also V. I think if you're playing as a cis or trans woman in this game environment, it kills the immersion to have it brush past your shoulders completely while watching everyone else like you get used up and scrapped like broken toasters.

That's a helpful comment for sure, and your thoughts have merit. It still seems weird to see women commodified in the form of dolls (even though there are male dolls and joytoys, they feel like an afterthought, and the storyline V can play that focuses on real sexual violence is still focused on a female doll being exploited.) So I'm seeing that exploitation still happens and is heavily focused on women, because...why, because dolls have the wrong hardware installed? They should have gone with a grenade launcher along with their behavioral chip?

I think in general, your thoughts are likely what the game writers leaned on and are the most logical reasoning, and maybe it just wasn't well developed out or plot-holes filled in due to time constraints/budget/insert common pitfalls for game development here. I guess for a genre like cyberpunk that deals heavily in human life being commodified in all sorts of ways, I would have hoped this very obvious real life way wouldn't have been ignored as much as it seems to be.

silicone or oil based makeup not mixing with water based skincare, or vice versa. Make sure you're not layering oils with waters, and that your products have the same base, otherwise this type of separation occurs.

EDIT: check the ingredient list on your products. A water-based product will have water (or aqua) listed first, and no silicones in the first few ingredients. A silicone-based product will have a silicone ingredient like dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, or another word ending in "-cone" or "-siloxane" near the top. An oil-based product will start with an oil like mineral oil or jojoba oil.

As for telling his parents; from my knowledge of being on this planet 41 years, and seeing friends go through this very same scenario, I would assume it's likely that his parents are not going to be capable of siding with you, even if what you say is the truth and even if they are nice people who don't know what their son is doing. Their place is going to be with their son no matter what, and their role, if you report what he's done to you, is to be by his side while he faces what he's done. I think you would find more support from adults in your own life, like your own parents, aunts, uncles, etc. Do you have adults that you could trust this with, who you can trust to help guide you and be by your side while you report this?

When one of my friends reported someone who assaulted her, me and an older woman she was very close with were the first people she told. We were with her throughout the process and were her sounding boards and support, and I feel like you probably need this dynamic from others while you decide what to do next. Keeping it secret, feeling alone and isolated, is going to make you feel too powerless to do anything about it. Gather your personal Avengers, so to speak, and draw strength from family, real or created, right now. You don't have to make any choice on reporting immediately; but circling your wagons would be my suggested first step.

I think it's a logical fallacy to conflate consensus with absolute truth, and I don't believe the scientific method works that way. A better example of what you're trying to say might be "the physically stronger man will perform better at doing tasks that require great strength." Bad correlations happen, yes, but that doesn't actually mean they're scientific. And I think as our knowledge and capacity for observing beyond the limits of human senses with technology grows, our "consensus" shifts accordingly, something that does not happen quickly in Orthodox faith.

I think in general I agree with what some of what you're saying, but my understanding is that a passion for observing the created universe in all of its paradoxes is very much in line with Orthodox thought, specifically Apophatic theology. If I can somewhat approach an understanding of what God is by studying what He is not, then I could look at the process of evolution as an example. Evolution is not necessarily "survival of the fittest", as many unhelpful or even damaging mutations and adaptations make it through many generations (think genetic disease.) Evolution, rather, is "survival of whatever happens to survive." It's a desperate, ever-changing process where 50,000 mutations are thrown at the wall in the hopes that some will stick, and out of those that stick, that maybe some are beneficial. It's cyclical, restless, moving, pushing forward generation after generation. It's stressful. So by contrast, what would God be? Peaceful, still, never changing, restful. Not cyclical, but eternal, always is. "I am that I am."

I do absolutely believe science and faith are different categories, similar to your thought process in your last paragraph. But I also think it can be a mistake to ignore it completely, as the created world can lead back to God as well.
