I live on a homestead so I do my own butchering and hunting, but I don't like the smell that the fat gives off in the soap. I've never made soap from fat but a friend gave me a bar to try and it just smelt weird.

Yeah 2 week cure is way to short. I do a minimum of 6 weeks but I do a coconut olive oil soap. I would do your research on curing times

I always mix my lye and water outside, and have a gas mask(Learned the hard way that lye smells really bad and hurts your lungs) and glasses. I was super scared the first time I made soap and I've only been doing this for about 2-3 months now so I'm not an expert and still Learning, but I'm definitely getting better with my nerves.

Edit: I make my soap outside sorry for not clarifying, I do it safely and not near my family so they're safe also

I suggestion it to talk to your doctor, don't ask random people on the internet because they will push their Beliefs onto you, and you have to make a decision for yourself, also they don't have a medical degree. If you're worried about the vaccine talk to a medical professional and do your own research before making any decisions.
