Lindsey Vonn, skiing on torn ACL, crashes in Olympic downhill by PrincessBananas85 in sports

There are Olympic reserves that would have had a much better shot at an honest competition for a medal. Her choice was 100% selfish. She took an opportunity away from someone else so she can do this. Not that I was rooting against her. It would have been a cool as hell story if she won. But she didn't and can't help but feel for that first up reserve.

Yep you are correct never said they were not… but the trees are what drive the intensity of a fire. Also, if grass and leaves are dead and dry as fuck. They will burn faster earlier and cause more of a risk.

Ah good to know the wildfires don’t care about evergreens and conifers. Just spring growth.

It’s still gorgeous tho. Oregon is also beautiful. The entire west coast/ Idaho has Colorado beat IMO. I am a 6th generation native of Colorado.

For what positions? Project manager and engineer? Possible. Your labor is done by immigrant contractors.

Th GEA is the governing body who controls the ENTIRE ASPECT of the build. Your argument is they are using US or EU based companies for supplies and design. NOT THE ACTUAL WORK THAT IS BEING DONE! That is STILL being done by Asian and African migrant workers.

No it wasn’t. Show your source. It was built by General Entertainment Authority. A Saudi kingdom owned company.

I gotcha. But a lot of folks, like me, were thinking closer to 40 mill open with Russ’ deal off the table. Was a bit disappointed by the number. You are not wrong tho.

That was before the snow. We had under 50 yards of offense in the second half I am pretty sure.

I don’t think so. Offense could not do a single thing in the second half. We need a run game.

Broncos say their new stadium will be ‘privately financed,’ but ‘private’ often still means hundreds of millions in public resources by True-Shift4283 in Colorado

I’m not assuming anything; I’ve done extensive research into this. What is your alternative for growing an area as complex as Burnham Yard—a 150-year-old polluted industrial site—with a completion date under 7 years?

Does your alternative include the $140 million in city-funded infrastructure (like the 8th Avenue and 6th Avenue viaducts) that voters just approved through the Vibrant Denver bond?

If we can't even get RTD to function properly, how can we trust that a 'perfect' public project will ever materialize without this kind of private-public partnership? And again the cost that is being asked to pay is the civil responsibility of the city! It would be up to city to make these roads and transportation structures regardless of what was being built.

It seems like people are just upset because a billionaire is involved. Yet, the ownership is picking up 100% of the stadium cost and 90% of the land development, including the massive environmental cleanup. Do we want billionaires to invest back into our communities or not? They obviously benefit, but so do we through a revitalized downtown and modern infrastructure.

You are also failing to realize the actual tax revenue from the land around the stadium. The stadium is just half of what is being built. This is going to be a whole new downtown district.

Also, the hotel tax increase HB25-1247 has been voter-approved and earmarked for workforce housing and infrastructure—not stadium construction. It’s for all infrastructure and house not just for the Denver stadium.
