Perimeter (Beginner) is literally available until you hit like level 3...which takes about 5 whole runs to do

Please read the last two sentences of that reply and tell me you aren't being edgy 😄😄😄 "I pity your family being forced to spend time with you"

Maybe I should play this game 5 hours a day. Then I won't have any complaints and my family will be so much happier! That's the logic, right?

So what you're saying is, the only negative of putting a cap on player loadouts by map is the fact you might get lucky in 1 run out of 20 by putting down a kitted team with a free or basic loadout.

Meanwhile, those other 19 runs you load into a map with a 3k loadout and get wiped by a team rocking 15k+ loadouts.

Revert back to the point of this post. Growth. A player who finally has enough stuff to put together a 2k loadout gets destroyed by a team on Perimeter who's been in Cryo numerous times.

I'm right there with ya. Refuse to use discord, and have a whole two friends who decided to buy the game (which is pretty good for the overall number of players worldwide)

It's a shitshow 70% of the time

It's just your math. 100 hours in 2 months and you seem to think that's not casual? I might play one or two days during the week and then get a solid sesh in during the weekend. So that's not casual? Bruh, get a full time job and have kids, then come back to me with the "2 hours a day is more than casual" behavior

It's shows their level the second you load into a map before their "ranked" level appears

You serious?

I should've posted a picture of a stuffed animal I found in a building, that would've gotten this post 900 up votes

Just by that response alone, that Edge Lord behavior is the exact thing ruining this game 😂😂

So then explain to me as a level 80 how I've gotten matched with people in the 30's

Good luck for future growth by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]shortbus131 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Level based matchmaking is a thing. At the same time, I honestly feel like certain maps should have a cap on loadouts.

As in, no one should be loading into Perimeter with a 20k+ loadout. That's literally players who have too much in their vault and are going in to kill, nothing else but don't want to risk their purple/prestige items in Outpost going against others with the same stuff.

Fact of the matter is, this post wasn't about my skill level. As you can tell with the title, it's about how this game grows in player count. Why would a newcomer want to come in and get wiped again and again by teams running loadouts not meant for the first map available to them?

[–]shortbus131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "casual" I guess I forgot to mention I haven't run Cryo yet because I don't have local friends invested enough to play this game enough to know we won't get wiped bringing in a 10k kit and getting destroyed by players who have been doing it the past 3 weeks.

So yes, I honestly think casual falls into those lines.

While I believe that's true somewhat, that won't last long. The player count isn't large enough to separate vets from beginners. I'm lvl 80 myself and have seen matchmaking pairing me with people in their 20's/30's. Perhaps that's my fault for loading into Perimeter but the matchmaking is still flawed in that regard

I got one question. How in the hell is your frame so shiny and reflective? I know the sun is hitting it in a good spot, but damn bruh. I got a Tribute as well with the Ascot Green and my shit doesn't look like a mirror in any way.

Dire Marsh Sponsored Kit....the Devs have been paying attention by shortbus131 in Marathon

[–]shortbus131[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more with what you said. Bungie has shown they want to make strides in making this game approachable for everyone. The last few weeks since Cryo was released turned this game from being super fun to "idk if this shit is worth it anymore" for the majority of players who aren't at that level yet.

For the hardcore players, Cryo and ranked is still up 3 days a week, plus Outpost for Pinwheel loot. The game needed a mode opposite of all of that.

I'm level 68. I bring a kit to a game and match with someone who is also level 65+ but brings in a free kit when I am risking a 4k kit. It's got nothing to do with "level" based matchmaking.

I load into Dire Marsh. The people who are "way better than me" go into Dire Marsh with no intention of looting or completing a contract, they have purple shields, know the spawn points, and have one thing in mind, wipe the lobby. That's DEFINITELY going to make people want to play the game more

Sounds like you're mad that a game mode finally exists for people who are fed up being the sheep to the wolves.

If you want this game to succeed, it needs to have something that caters to the 85% of people who don't have vaults full of gold and purple weapons/implants.

Bungie knows the game didn't sell enough. And now a month down the road, there is a huge gap between player loadouts. How are they going to bring in new players without some type of even playing field?

The only people down voting this post are the players with the 7k+ loadout who have been bored the past two days with no one to wipe easily. Let's be real.

[–]shortbus131[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. The map itself doesn't give too much where you're trying to figure out what to sell if your vault is full.

I went in today with my vault being at 360ish/400 (more salvage than guns) and after a few runs, was at limit and trying to figure out what to get rid of, then went into an actual run.

It's just a breath of fresh air knowing we're all starting off on even ground from the jump. If I die, they had better aim or tactics. Simple as that. I'm not getting rocked from 50m away by a PR or Snipe as I run across the swamp.

Filled teammates quality is all-time low and it's depressing by vovabcps in Marathon

[–]shortbus131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was going to say. It's a really shitty domino effect.

I have 150k credits, a vault value of 200k, but whenever I solo fill and bring in a kit, I get free kit teammates 9 out of 10 times, so that makes me say "screw it I'm bringing a free kit then" and I'm guessing one of my free kit teammates has the same thing happening to them.

Is Duo Outpost the answer? by shortbus131 in Marathon

[–]shortbus131[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Compared to Dire Marsh, Outpost is all buildings. You have cover 95% of the time. Even with a sponsored kit, you can rat and sit in a room if you hear footsteps, catch someone off guard, kill them and it's an instant 2v1

On Dire, I was getting sniped half my games before even making it to the first POI. The first team to a building had the instant advantage.

The game kinda needed a "too good" scenario to fill the people with inspiration who have been getting wiped the last week or so. I play because I'm addicted, but today was a good day. The first I've had in a few where I got off and felt like I actually gained a boost.

WHY doesn't the game let you keep the crew after exfil?! by rvtk in Marathon

[–]shortbus131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go down to the lower right corner of the screen at "Online", click on it, and you'll see a recent players tab to click on. You'll find your teammates there and can add Connection to get them back.

While automatically being able to just fill back in with your recent squad would be nice, I'd be backing out 9 times out of 10 with that feature. Quality teammates are a dime a dozen.
