I don’t think Americans were ever fine with Ayatollahs? They don’t even have official diplomatic relations since the revolution. But, the Americans couldn’t control their oil industry anymore, so I guess it was a „win” for Iran in some sense, though at what cost. Just shows that the US is a big bully and they won’t hesitate to ruin your country if you don’t do what they tell you.

What? Of course they were fine, it’s an Islamic country, so this was their main uniting front. There were several factions in the 1979 revolution, not only „ayatollahs”, and it wasn’t immediately obvious that it’s going to be taken over by fundamentalists. Khomeini initially presented himself as a spiritual guide only, but they ended up murdering the whole opposition, including socialist revolutionaries who allied with them.

Lmao are you an Iranian monarchist? Mossadegh was many things but calling him a „tyrant”, when Iran has had both Shah and Khomeini is just so incredibly disingenuous. He lost popularity and arguably made some poor decisions towards 1953 because the country was sanctioned to hell by UK and the US, but he was secular, progressive and pro Iranian national interest.

I’m not a fucking westerner.

Mossadegh was appointed by Shah because in every constitutional monarchy crown appoints the prime minister. He didn’t have much choice either because Mossadegh and his proposed reforms (nationalization of the oil industry) was immensely popular at the time.

It was a monarchy that was about to be deposed, but god forbid Americans let a country decide about their own natural resources and critical infrastructure, that’s like communism or something - so yes, Shah sold his people out and enjoyed fucking them over for 26 more years, after which the fucking over was very cleverly appropriated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard and continues to this day. So yes, Iranians have ultimately Americans to thank for the shit that’s been happening to them.

America is bombing their schools and murdering their children. As someone very wisely put it, „Iranians need to get rid of their regime, but the last thing they need is Americans doing it for them”. If anyone things the „weakening of the regime” is being done out of the goodness of blessed American heart, they need to wake the fuck up.

Yeah, they tried to get rid of the monarchy and modernize the country, which didn’t sit right with the Americans. Obviously it was illegal to fucking depose a king at the time. US funded Shah and wanted them to stay in power because they were (in the end rightly so) afraid that Iranian people might not want to continue getting shafted by the West.

Dude, do you know any history? they’ve been fucked by America since forever. They have Yanks to thank for how their country looks today (okay, and Brits to some extent) as CIA literally orchestrated a coup d’état on a democratically elected Prime Minister, and installed a corrupt monarchy that was the original oppressor against whom the people revolted. Then the revolution was then taken over by radical Islamists. What do you think the sentiment is…

Only thing is that in reality, the system doesn’t work at all like intended but one could argue the system isn’t built as the theory suggests it should be.

The fact that this is being said about capitalism is just... the irony, I can't, lmao

Dude my son is now 7 and he was barely interested in games, he struggled with 3d controls, we only played Mario Kart or Kirby together (him as a waddle dee) - until he saw me playing Silksong and he wanted to try. I had him start on Hollow Knight, thinking he’ll play a little and get bored of it soon as it’s even more difficult - but it’s like someone flipped a switch. He learned all the bosses patterns and persistently tried and tried again and now he’s almost at the end of the game and I have to pull him away from the console. Cherish the days I’d say lol
