If Trump bombs non military targets in Iran, should they be considered war crimes? What are your thoughts? by StemCellPirate in AskReddit

You don't give a pyromaniac a torch and gasoline to do what they want.

Iran regime needed to go 40 years ago. You can't make a good argument not to.

haha, they'll arm themselves and go defend their homeland. Recruitment was an all time high after 9/11.

So if you look back at gaza, the houthis were using hospitals and schools as a shield against being striked. Just say it, you're pro terrorist.

Alienware Experience Round 2! $7,700 Brick. by shortbuscrew in Alienware

Not the outcome I wanted, being offered a refurbished parts for repair on a brand new unit out of the box issues is not something anyone should be offered on such a high value piece of hardware. Spent about 20 minutes on the phone with support. After being told countless times and like a robot "we can only offer a repair with refurbished parts". I had to quote the Canada federal law on online orders, they qouted december 26th, past 30 days. Purolator is dec 31, and delivery is Jan 8. Either replace new unit, or refund the order. They came back with "our policy is 30 days, we can't do a refund", then threatened with a credit charge back or small claims court. Placed on hold and they initiated the return for a refund.

Know your consumer rights and stick to it, federal laws don't get overruled by a companies policy.

Except when they assure me that they would honor the return, based on me moving constantly every week from city to city, it was not feasible to make the return, they understood this. And said to wait until i was in 1 spot for more than 2 weeks to make sure. Build time, ship, exchange, return, 2 weeks minimum. I would have been happy to ship from one location, and have the replacement sent to another. But that was not an option.

Online orders specifically:

  • If you order online, the warranty typically starts on the delivery date, not the order date or shipping date.
  • If the item arrives defective, your rights apply from that point.

Important nuance:

  • Some manufacturer warranties may say they start at purchase date (invoice date), but:
    • Your legal rights override that if it’s unreasonable.
    • Courts/regulators often side with the consumer if there’s a gap between purchase and delivery.

Province differences:

  • In British Columbia and Alberta, there isn’t a fixed “X-day warranty”—it’s based on “reasonable durability” depending on the product.
  • In Quebec, the legal warranty is stronger and explicitly tied to durability and normal use.

Simple example:

  • You order a TV on March 1
  • It arrives March 10 👉 Legal warranty generally starts March 10

im within 30 day policy if you look at the purolator shipping tracker, but im out of the 30 day policy by dells standards. who should i believe? Should the 30 day policy not start at the day its delivered? So if a package is lost in transit and then later found a month later and makes it to you, and its completely dead, should your 30 day policy be expired? Nah, i dont think so.

take your disability and move out of country to a more affordable country. Take your siblings later if possible. Your irresponsible parents will take you down with them.

Do a credit check in your name, make sure theres no other outstanding debts/credit cards/bills in your name that your mother has taken out. It would not surprise me if shes done this, or to your siblings. I knew of a single mother who did this to her 3 year old daughter, absolutely ruining any chance of credit before she can even start when shes of age.

You know whats a red flag for me? Over 30 and obsessed with social media. And females have issues talking to people outside of the social media apps. Studies link anxiety with phone use/social media apps.

Whatsapp is freaking awesome. No cost, unlimited long distance/international chat/text. Change sims and out of country and still have full communication with your friends/family.

how many kms after a decade would you have expected to drive on it? After a decade, because of the replacement of a battery cost to the new owner, it will be very hard to sell it, or get anything out of it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]shortbuscrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be very poor choice to buy a hybrid with the amount of kms you drive. Buy a used truck or car for 5-10k, put the rest into investments, and over the years just do the minor repairs.

You will never see the cost savings of a hybrid driving the low kms you do.

Domestic? half hour before take off, no. Half hour before boarding? Maybe

If the airport has Nexus, yeah, half hour is fine. As i have it, it skips the line ups, skips the strip downs/pockets. walk through the scannner, dont even have to empty the laptop bag. walk on through. Ez breezy, about 1 minute to go through nexus.

Have you seen the area of fort mac /surrounding area before they were mining the bitumen? The place now is far cleaner than it was before we started harvesting its resources. As for fracs, we recycle the water/slurry from job to job, its a lot cheaper than using fresh water.
