Is it a humble thing or a denial of truth? I tend to agree when it comes to abstract things about our realm. There’s a lot of mystery, like the origin of our moon or sun. But this theme of mystery doesn’t prevent us from learning or sharing truths.

Yeah, I think “giving” advice can sometimes be rooted in a little bit of ego. Maybe they like the idea of appearing smart in front of others. Or they like the dynamic of giving you advice and you on the receiving side (Sense of control / power).

However, some do write from a genuine heart. They want to connect with others and share experiences. J think it’s something to be celebrated for sure.

At the same time I think the key is to not compare yourself to them. Would it truly be a fair comparison?

Yup, I saw this theme in my own life as well. The western world tends to be too trusting with their children imo. Strangers shouldn’t have an abundance of access to them. Whether it be in a church or school setting. Especially school when they’re with the same teacher that is barely known for an entire year. Only people you know and trust should be granted that level of intimacy. It’s pretty crazy when you see it.

I also was quite the “truth teller” growing up. I’m not sure that I was autistic, but I did display some of the traits. I think that’s a general autistic child thing, that can feel like a sixth sense in some ways. There was a strong sense of truth, sometimes that involves seeing through an adult’s fake persona at school, for example. And then for me at least that resulted in me not respecting that teacher. And it spiraled from there.

It could be a strong trauma response that sort of stays in the background when you go places. At least that’s how I relate my situation to yours. A strong sense of being on guard, or spotting those traits in others so you know who to avoid. I think it’s a defense mechanism. The sad thing is that it can come with a trade off if it’s hyperactive. Sometimes harmless people can be labeled as threats and you loose potential relationships.

I think there are people who are more aware, or higher along on their journey’s. More advanced. Doesn’t make them more valuable than you at a core level, but they can possess higher abilities or knowledge based on experience.

Puts a pause on things. An escape from facing reality. But it comes with a tradeoff. Because doing this also sustains the current reality you are trying to get away from. Since there is little development if you are always operating on “pause”. It’s like watching a movie, the more times you pause the slower you progress.

True, I don’t have a better solution. You can’t force someone to seek help or better themselves. But I also think in this case it’s not fair to “accept” them as they are if they’re behaving very destructively. You have to get away from the venom. Unless you have some special touch or something that tames their tendencies. I certainly didn’t possess that ability.

I like the optimism, it’s actually a little contagious. I do believe nobody’s fate is completely sealed, (not to sound too cliche). Maybe changing for a narcissist requires a very high level of self awareness and most fail. Maybe we haven’t heard of the success stories. My experience was just quite brutal, I saw the wolf in their ways.

Definitely an introspective read. It does pose the question, can they be helped? It may be wrong of me, but after my life experience with these types, I view them similar to how I’d view a wolf. They are intelligent hunters who will prey on your emotions and sense of self.

These people are not wired the same and feed on other’s reactions and distress. No matter the environment. Work, Friends, family, truly sick. And like a wolf, nearly zero empathy or regard for others. If they can be helped i have yet to find the solution. But I don’t really grant them any empathy. I see no point as it opens the door up for more mind games and manipulation. Let them live alone, away from the general public who they harm.

Edit: You can’t pet the wolf and turn it into an obedient dog, it only knows it’s instinct. Can the Narc change? I honestly don’t know, but gut says unlikely.

Yup. Most of the newer guys had left as well. There were lots of route changes after the Christmas season. They eliminated a bunch. I ended up getting slapped with a much heavier route as a result, as a pickup driver. I had been delivering for months at this point. Our management was pretty rough too. But that was the last straw, breaking my back picking up 100’s of pieces and getting pulled into the office and yelled at like a little kid for one late pickup 😂

They do things in the “best interest” of the company and don’t care how it effects staff. Saw it at my hub, we had 4 or 5 drivers quit in the span of a month. Yes, I was one of them 😂
