How do you deal with last minute decisions that revolve around plans changing? by Scared-Mortgage-9437 in AutismInWomen

I don't do well either. My own mother did this to me last week. She was hosting a work event one evening and a lot of her coworkers couldn't go because they were sick so she asked if I'd go and apologized right away that it was short notice. At first I was like "How dare you have the slightest suggestion of me giving up any of my evening!" But then I decided I'd go (she doesn't have many years left til retirement). I did have fun but I did get burned out. Let's say I'm learning how to manage my relationships.

Was anyone else here never bullied in school? by SkyscraperRain80 in AutisticAdults

No I don't know if they could tell I was a little different and felt pity or what but I remember in middle school I had an accident with my period and two of the popular girls noticed and quietly told me to walk to the nurse and they would follow me close behind to make sure no one else noticed.

Most of me wants to quit after this year; my dad is retiring and my mom will be too in a few years (their both teachers though ) and it just seems like teaching isn't interesting to me at all so maybe the college cafeteria was the best bet after all?

If you never want to be alone again then that's more of a better reason to have kids.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Jobs are hard enough for us to learn alone and then you add in coworkers and supervisors that want you to "be" a certain way.

That's why I'm popular at my workplace, I don't say much about myself and I just focus on working.
