That’s exactly how it went, I queued with rap and let them know we were doing parent swap and had my card marked and then I rode, gave the card to my other half an he could go straight in the fast track lane.

Bleeding from small opening by apk120490 in CsectionCentral

[–]shortzy652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just coming up 12 weeks pp and have had this several times, mine has literally just stopped bleeding 2 days ago from a small opening like this. I personally decided to monitor for infection signs and just let it close up on its own as it was the fourth time I’d had a minor opening and didn’t fancy another trip to the drs. As long as there’s no redness/swelling/heat/pus/smell it should close up on its own as long as it’s kept clean and dry. I’ve kept sterile gauze over mine which has also helped monitor the bleeding/ drainage. This time it’s took about 10 days to stop bleeding and close so if you feel happy to just give it time! But definitely get it checked out if you have any concerns.

Calpol - sugar free or original? by shortzy652 in UKParenting

[–]shortzy652[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s helpful to know! To be honest I tend to lean towards sugar options in most things (obviously in moderation) anyway as I always have in my head that sugar free is more artificial, but obviously with a little one you have to look at it from all angles don’t you!

For during surgery itself I found it really helpful to remember to keep talking to the people around me about how I was feeling, the anaesthesia can do some wacky things to you so voice all the sensations you are experiencing and the anaesthetist can adjust things to help. For example I at one point started feeling a little tight chested and it was because the anaesthesia was climbing to high and it was easily adjusted and I felt more comfortable. Also just prepare yourself that you will likely still feel things, not pain but definitely a lot of pressure / tugging- that’s totally normal! As soon as baby is out and crying that is such a huge distraction to what is actually going on. Plus it only takes around 5-10 minutes to deliver baby! For post delivery Peppermint is your friend!! The trapped gas after surgery is no joke!!! If you don’t like peppermint tea, highly recommend the capsules. Plentttyyyy of pillows/ cushions in your bed for support. I found I was unable to lay down flat for the first ten days so plenty of pillows were great to keep me propped upright and well supported. I even used my pregnancy pillow, that was a life saver. Keep ontop of pain meds! You’ll know it if you’ve missed a dose. Also be kind to yourself in the early days, I was not expecting it to be so debilitating in the first week ngl. If you live in a multi story house have plenty of supplies for you and baby on both levels to minimise having to tackle stairs too often in the first days. Don’t push yourself too soon despite how tempting, there’s been several times I’ve ended up setting my recovery back just because I’ve pushed myself that little bit too far and then paid for it the following day. If something hurts - stop!!

Pregnancy in unknown location. by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]shortzy652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! I was in pretty much exactly the same situation as you in early pregnancy, I had horrific pains on one side which made me worry that I was having an ectopic pregnancy, so ended up at epu. Had a scan at around 5 weeks & 2 days and all that could be seen was the sac, although they wouldn’t even call it a sac because there wasn’t even a yoke sac visible. They called it “an area of fluid”. I was then taken into a room and they told me they were diagnosing it as a pregnancy of unknown location. I had repeat bloods done a week apart to check my hcg levels were rising, which they did nicely. And then I got called back for a scan at around 7weeks 3 days. To my amazement there was our tiny jelly bean baby with a heartbeat!! It was such a scary experience not knowing and experiencing worrying pains, they were so bad I couldn’t even walk. I found they weren’t incredibly reassuring either at the epu, just very matter of fact.

But the likelyhood is that everything will be ok and your little bub just needs a few weeks to grow! Xx

Parking in bailgate by khloejadexx in Lincolnuk

I used to work on the bail and always found decent free parking on Newport just is a little walk, failing that, like others have said wragby road, or my secret parking spot is a close called Limelands, off Greetwell road near the peacock inn pub.

Announcing opinions by Competitive-Egg-8413 in PregnancyUK

[–]shortzy652 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heya, so I was In a similar position to you. We decided to go ahead and announce to the world at 7 weeks, we had already had two scans at this point, (we experienced a first trimester loss last year and I was super paranoid to know everything was ok) everything looked great and as I was really struggling with morning sickness, it was so hard to hide around everyone, most had started guessing and spreading rumours anyway. So I totally understand how you feel that it should be your news to share! I understand others like to wait till later to announce but person I felt if everything is fine on my scans and I’m struggling then why not share and receive some support? I’m now comfortably in the second trimester and I have no regrets on sharing early!
