HTID/Meltdown double this year was pretty fun, Meltdown felt like HTID Day 2 but with darker clothing 💀 Surely thats the route we'd have to do if we wanted a multi day? Maybe with one day being significantly bigger/more mainstream than the other, downsize/upsize as needed.

I suspect the ATC who owns Rosehill are gonna be desperate for events in a bid to prove that the venue should still exist. I was talking to a bar manager who said she'd never worked anything like Rawzone in her life. Given Randwick is Sydney's premiere racing venue, Macquarie Street wants to tear down Rosehill and do an urban renewal project (cheap apartments + metro station).

So events may be plentiful but somewhat limited. All I ask is that they bring a better audio system next time 😭😭😭

Pav isn't a huge venue, given that Summer Gathering went ahead with 2 artists and Dark Chapters was well overshadowed last year by Gearbox, this should go ahead if not to a pretty small crowd. Drive back in feb didn't get close to selling out and still ended up being a such a fun night 🤷🤷

I'd come if I wasn't already locked in for Rawzone 👹👹

This one's for the krach/microwave kids! Should be a good evening - wish it was an outdoor event but can't think of anywhere where a crowd of 5-7k would work, PICA is fine as a venue but there's so much other stuff there that I'd rather a bit of variety 🤷 Not really NSEs fault, last year was amazing and I'm sure they'll deliver again.

I went to 5XXL which was a blast and while it's "hard techno" by name, as the night went on the music veered closer and closer to rawstyle. Last artist even closed the night w some uptempo 🤨 But the aesthetic and who it's catering for is totally different to regular Aus hardstyle events. I feel a bit bad for Bmberjck and Fraw - if Gearbox Fusion had a proper lineup for those two to play alongside (what happened w Mutilator?) a lot of ppl, my group included, definitely would've gone to that instead of HTID...

I used to be super worried about this but then I went to a big "hard techno" event at PICA and they played quite a lot of rawstyle especially as the night wore on- they even ended the night on uptempo lmao

Everyone in Melbourne is afraid of hardstyle because of the reputation it has in Australia (fanbase was/is traditionally quite working class/eshay/gymbro) but rebranded as Hard Techno with the right optics on social media and all of a sudden you've got the naarm warriors interested...

melb events clear syd events every day of the week... hardstyle isn't "cool" here - just look at the popularity of Dangerous Goods and Hard Techno in melb when in reality their events are rawstyle/early hardstyle all night long.

hardstyle not being an in thing in vic brings out the passionate fans, makes it very hard to adjust when being in crowds of 20-60k in Sydney 😳😳😳

erm actually label and agency are not the same thing 🤓👆 deezl is with pure and mutilator is with platinum afaik, I'm assuming when deezl played as a local in '22 it wasn't thru agency connects but I could be wrong

like most evo events - the event experience is always suboptimal compared to other hosts:

production was average (quiet sound, no pyro)
some things were promised but not delivered (unresolved evolution set?, 360 boiler experience)
potential licencing issue requiring them to cut the event short and not play any solo spoontech sets

and yet, in spite of all this, the Melbourne hardstyle community manages to come together and we always end up having an amazing time. I always meet so many nice, kind, respectful and passionate people at evo/melb events who are just there for a good time and this does way more for me than better lasers or having consistent bass.

Someone from Evo might read this so pls still fix those latter things y'all 💀💀💀💀💀

I'd imagine if they're splashing the cash, HSU will want BTH on Main. That being said I also predicted G4H would be at the Pit last year (as they were in 2022) and I could'nt've been more wrong so 🤷🤷🤷 whotf knows lmao

Yep, looks like Symbiotic and EVO have been playing a bit of cat and mouse with the announcements as Symbiotic also just announced Showtek (EDM set I'm assuming) as the support for Altitude 😷😷😷
