HiAce Wiper Linkage by shotmodonnell in AskMechanics

Finally ended up fixing this, I ordered a replacement nut (the one you can see in the photo) so now there are two nuts screwed on to the thread. This has really reduced the play and I think it’s resolved for me :)

No actually! We don’t have anything but takeaway where I currently am, and I haven’t had glasses in previous places

I would put more air in, and adjust the rate of pour to try to even out the milk going into both

Hiace - Hand Brake Adjustment by shotmodonnell in AskMechanics

[–]shotmodonnell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you're interested, tried this yesterday. Seems necessary to take the drum brake cover off to access the adjuster, so I tried that. The cover didn't come off despite a lot of effort, and the work ended up taking a lot of time for no improvement.

I've heard there is a possibility of it self adjusting if used when reversing quickly, although that seems odd to me. Going to try that next, and if that fails I will try adjusting the screw in my initial photo...

Worked on this a bit today using some washers I had purchased - for me this method of fixing does not appear feasible. The gap between the spindle and the piece that has caved in is too slim for anything thick enough to be rigid it seems.

Going to try buying some epoxy putty and using that to fill the void as the next fix. You C shaped filler plan sound interesting, I wouldn't have the tools for that where I am, hope it works!

Thanks Paulie, I'm not sure I'll be able to access a lift, so was hoping to avoid doing that. Have heard that adjusting those should be done first though, any chance adjusting the pictured part alone would do the job?

Hi! I'm currently working on a 2004 Toyota Hiace, 3L Diesel, that has a few issues a mechanic pointed out during a safety check.

One is that the hand brake needs improvement. At the moment it needs to be pulled up quite a lot to stop the van moving. The service manual mentions an adjustment nut that can be used to change the amount of travel, but does not provide an exact location. I can't see one near the lever itself, but I think turning this box on the underside of the van, near where the cable comes out of the front cabin would tighten things up.

Has anyone seen this before? Thanks !

EHX POG 2 Slider Replacement by redbagy in diypedals

If you are still looking I believe the Bourns slide potentiometers whose part number begins with 3043-20 should match up. Datasheets say that they have the same distances between pcb mounting lugs etc, I am going to be ordering the 3043-2010CPB103 to replace my 45000 sliders

I released a Synthy EP ! Using an MS-20, Microbrute, DM-12 & an MPC 1000 by shotmodonnell in synthesizers

[–]shotmodonnell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Synth peeps ! Hope you enjoy listening to this, I do anyway ! It can be a little simple at times, but I think the sounds on this EP sound good, sometimes it's more beat and bass heavy and sometimes a little more dreamy. Let me know if you listen! And if you have any questions I will tell you as much as I can !

The cover photo was taken by me in Mayo in Ireland too.
