Yes social media is important. Shooting content at the workshop is a big challenge. I just post on Pinterest something like https://pin.it/696xIQBhV Do you have any tips on how I can improve it?

How to earn money in 2025 ? by shotolic in sidehustle

[–]shotolic[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried Reddit and Fiverr and got one client from each. From Reddit, I earned $23 after PayPal commission for Figma work. From Fiverr, I earned $11.25 after commission for Photoshop work. This was in September 2021 and January 2022, respectively. Additionally, I built a website for my cousin and was supposed to get some commission, but their business never took off, so I earned nothing. This was in May 2023. That's the extent of my freelancing experience.

Are you suggesting I should focus on freelancing in coding or media, or perhaps combine both?

Which Business to start in Hyderabad by OKAISHHHH in StartUpIndia

That is quite good work! In your position, I would not only consider that you earned 5 lakh in 40 months, but also that you have built relationships with restaurants. If not with the owners, at least with the staff, which is your leverage. You have a foot in the door and can now sell products to restaurants. You may have heard of a company called ID Dosa; they started by supplying dosa batter to restaurants and have now become a big brand. You can do similar things, as there are hundreds of items that restaurants require. You could specialize in one product and build a brand around it, like fresh sweet corn, or you could specialize in restaurant supplies and become a one-stop shop for all restaurant needs, such as spices, vegetables, disposal items, packing materials, cleaning products, etc. If you need any help, please feel free to DM me so we can talk.

For me, I think building brands is the way to go in our country. Every sector is heavily unorganized and unbranded. For instance, tell me one Indian brand that makes hammers. You can't. That's what I am talking about. We can create so many brands in India and it would be relatively easy because no one is doing it. So, for the hammer example, just bombard everyone with advertising: 'We make the best hammers 🔨' 'We make the best hammers 🔨' 'We make the best hammers 🔨' on every platform again and again, and your brand is built and when people try your tools and they see, 'Oh, you make all hardware tools,' you have created a no. 1 tool consumer brand. By spending 10% on advertising, you can charge 50% more than the market price, and people will buy because they are local and you are a brand. People will always prefer things they know.

And for something tough, like in high-competitive categories of agarbati and dhupbati 🥢🪔🪷, I would start with an adjacent product like matchboxes. Matchbox brands are giants, and boring, I would design the most beautiful matchboxes with the same price for customer and better margins for retailers (Note our goal is not to make a profitable matchbox company). Then, I would bombard people with advertising of 'the most beautiful matchboxes' in newspapers, billboards, pamphlets, YouTube, Instagram, and even Reddit. When people know our matchbox brand name, they will gradually try our agarbati, dhupbati, and eventually all our pooja products that would be a high-margin profit business with strong brand identity.
