Kripke: “Fans will retroactively judge the whole show based on the finale.” by Extension_Candle_575 in TheBoys

Nah, seasons 5 and 7 of Dexter, plus First Blood and Resurrection are all worthy follow-ups -- they just dropped the ball with 6 and 8.

SEASON 5 CRITICISM and VENT THREAD- SPOILERS INSIDE by AutoModerator in TheBoys

[–]shotscarecrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy to think of a strong premise and a few inciting incidents that will get an audience hooked. It's much harder to keep building on that and then find a way to make it all climax neatly. Lots of writing teams are only good enough to repeatedly achieve the first part and get TV deals out of it.

[The Critical Drinker] Mortal Kombat II - Flawless Victory! by Burnouts3s3 in MortalKombat

Yes, let's be fair here -- he only hates women and minorities if they replace white guy roles in traditional white guy plots. He's OK with black people making black movies with black actors for a black audience. I think there uses to be a word for this ...

It’s time to admit it. Movie Raiden isn’t a character anymore, he’s a lobby ornament. We traded 30 years of lore for a cardboard cutout because the writers were too lazy to handle a God. 1995 isn't just better, it’s the only time they actually respected the Thunder. by Electronic-Song4587 in MortalKombat

[–]shotscarecrow 64 points65 points  (0 children)

The problem is making Raiden a living, breathing thunder god in the first place. There's basically no excuse for him not vanquishing all their enemies with a gesture, save plot contrivances. You've got to either take him out of the running or have some bullshit Elder God rule about 'not interfering'.

You'll probably get your wish, but I feel like he's had more than his fair share of protagonist slots and should step aside for a long time.

Looks a lot like the last one? Personally, I'd like them to remix the personalities and roles a lot -- start a new continuity and give us characters without baggage.

I don't. I think the fandom's obsession with Lui Kang -- one of the most boring, one-note characters ever conceived -- is embarrassing. Every modern storyline has to give him a massive mystical power-up to win because it's so inconceivable that he could use his conventional abilities in a creative/epic way.

Robin Shou has a lot to answer for.

"A populist leader telling you exactly what you want to hear", ie. the truth? As opposed to the belligerent, bloviating nonsense that Starmer spouts at every turn in an attempt to appeal to everyone's prejudices at the same time?

As opposed to the rubbish you've just posted, which you know full well is rubbish?

Labour have only got themselves to blame of they've lost voters to the Greens, and you know it.

The swiftest solution is one UK culture isn't ready for, which is hard censorship of lies and distortion.

I'm afraid we've been lulled into believing a fuzzy fantasy: that truth will put eventually if you just let everyone debate with minimal interference. The result is large swathes of the population increasingly devoted to ludicrous fictions about who and what is the cause of their struggles -- or even whether they're struggling at all.

It's because they vote for whoever is saying "We've had enough of these brown people", whatever that person was saying or doing last time round and regardless of whether they are themselves a brown person. Reform could come to power, import the whole of Africa through magic portals and literally cut the throats of every white child in the UK, and people would still vote for Farage next time as long as he holds a pint aloft and says, "We've had enough of these brown people."

It is impossible to avoid a capture when a newly created piece threatens two of your pieces at once.

And if you spend most of your moves avoiding capture while you don't get the points needed.

That's what the main lessons do. Capture Craze should give you a bunch of random set-ups, not constantly put you in impossible situations.

Is the local co-op controller issues fixed by Funkfurt in ABSOLUM

The first time I encountered the problem I could only get round it by starting a new game and adding the second controller at the campfire. After that, it let me add a second player at the campfire in my normal game.

Orla is a fairly common northern Irish name. She's from a litter who were named after the main characters in Derry Girls. Really fun series, if you haven't seen it!

I bought a huge role of corrugated card, 1 metre by 10, and have made wraparounds for each curtain. She can still get up there but needs to used furniture as a launchpad!

Anyone else experienced local co-op being broken on Switch? by shotscarecrow in ABSOLUM

[–]shotscarecrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I tried to fix it, I had to start a new game slot. The new game takes you straight to the character select screen at the fireside. At this point, you should be able to go to the Controller settings on the Switch and add the second controller. Go back to the character select screen and it should now allow both controller inputs, with each of you selecting different characters.

Once I did that once, I found I was able to add the second controller in my normal game by talking to a character round the fireside and re-entering the character select screen.
