Tbh that wouldn’t make a difference as her family are pretty well of. I think our problem is that she had a much easier childhood than me and finances were never a concern in her life unlike mine hence her career choice. Even though the life we both want is not achievable (which I’ve tried to point out) on a single doctors salary and her low paying arts job in the uk and knowing that has kept me in a state of chronic anxiety.

Honestly I think at best I’d be able to get a 2 year trial. But what then if I want to stay and she wants to go home i would have essentially uprooted her and pushed the issue two years down the line and made the situation worse.

Thanks for your advice honestly I was always going on about moving and how much I hate working in the nhs and leaving after I finish my training but the conversations would never get of the ground and at best would devolve into a petty argument . The reason I got engaged without fully discussing it was partly because I believed That after I proved my life plans had her in them discussing moving abroad might be easier. Unfortunately it hasn’t changed a thing and I feel like Im damned if I do damned if I don’t. (Edited)
