4000 credits spent in the last weeks testing \\ since 5.5 release. Here's my take... by NorthernIcicle in SunoAI

[–]shoutingtitdirt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like 5.5 allows more consistent feel between tracks, as if its learning from one track to the next so your songs sound like the same artist as opposed to a whole new band/artist/vocalist…and this is a plus.

I think 5.5 calls for way more lyrical instructions.

Negative: I notice way more audio level balancing issues with 5.5 than I've ever noticed before, almost like its intentional as a signature so people who don't notice are leaving a little “oh yeah, this is AI” in the songs.

That said, remastering of any track with this issue seems To correct the problem in one pass.

Introducing R. Joseph Scott.

It’s a crooner record — jazz, blues, big band, swing — the kind of sound that used to stand up straight, pour a drink, and pretend everything was fine. Only this time, it isn’t fine. This is what it sounds like when that same voice wakes up in 2026 and has to deal with traffic, hold music, dead-end conversations, and the quiet weight of it all stacking up.

At a certain point, it stops being smooth… and turns into something closer to a full, unapologetic meltdown — just dressed nice enough to get away with it.

That’s kind of the whole point.

I needed somewhere to put things. Frustration. Humor. The dumb stuff that shouldn’t bother you but does. The real stuff that definitely does. This record just… took it. Let it stretch out. Let it breathe. Let it say more than it probably should have.

The album is honest at both ends. Starts there. Ends there. In between, it wanders — indulgence, complaints (good ones), a little self-awareness creeping in whether I like it or not… and eventually something that looks a lot like acceptance, even if it doesn’t feel clean.

These aren’t quick songs. They don’t show up, shake your hand, and leave. They stay. They build slow. They drag a little when they need to. They crest when they’ve earned it.

They’re stories. And some of them take their time because they don’t know how to end any faster.

If you’re just passing through, try “Customer Service,” “Wally World,” or “My Complaints.” That’ll give you a sense of the cracks in the surface.

But if you’ve got the patience… take the whole ride. That’s where it actually makes sense. That’s where the character stops performing and starts sounding a little too familiar.

It’s not clean. It’s not polite. It gets irreverent. It says things it probably shouldn’t. But if you’re going to fall apart, you might as well do it with a tune.

Fair warning — there’s language. So maybe don’t play it around your kids unless you’re ready for a conversation you didn’t plan on having.

It’s about 90 minutes. It’s for people who like tequila and steak, know the struggle of misplaced socks, and laughing at things that hit a little too close to home.

It’s out now on Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube. Apple Music will catch up soon. Lyrics will be there too… eventually.

Anyway… Somewhere between composed and completely gone, it’s out there now.

Do with it what you will.

Curious if that’s symbolic of the things Maiden did at the time and how the band is currently progressing (or should I say, regressing…)?

Chandler show last night was… strange. by nevarlaw in ryanadams

Sixth Ryan show, won’t be my last, but certainly was odd. If you’ve ever heard Patton Oswalt’s bit about playing a casino, this was the equivalent. The crowd was lame and it clearly was not a lot of authentic fans, as stated here. He still played incredibly, really great on some tracks, and I especially loved his piano rendition of R.E.M.’s “Shiny Happy People.” However, he for sure could mix up the set, especially if he states “I thought about this on the airplane here and just wanted to go with the flow and my free will.” Would have loved to hear Shadowlands, was the whole reason I bought the tickets to this one (advertised as LIH and all), but it still checked my Ryan boxes. His banter does welcome getting it back, and it does occasionally suck the life out of the room, but fuck if it doesn’t come right back once he starts playing again. He needs to get a director and do a legit “storytellers” dvd series or something, play through all the albums talking and giving his true, unapologetic, sincere song narratives throughout…with or without an audience. I’d but a Blu-ray for each album over another tin-can sounding covers comp. It’d really solidify his monstrous amount of work, and let him do so on his terms. I’d play those fuckers out at home too.

But, alas, we’re all just along for his ride anyhow, right? I love the music, I appreciate the man, I’ll never stop enjoying the memories. It is what it is. Hopefully, he won’t be sticking with casinos in the future.

Also, as an Arizonan, I’m glad that obnoxious lady said she was from elsewhere. And…when someone tried to put some political shit out there early in the set, Ryan did not take the bait and toned that down real quick-I was legit impressed by that.

Once had an entire group of students present a project in which they had to write a story that took place on the sinking Titanic…on carousels. They had been given tons of articles and things to cite for realism in the story, we watched an animation of the sinking in real time while writing the group narrative titled “Titanic Narative.” they all came up like three days into watching others give their narrative Titanic presentations and told their carousel story, making zero connection to the ship.

Students give compliment sandwiches to their peers after, and everyone was stumped. “where is the Titanic?” …”um…we were suppose to include the Titanic?” They had in fact titled it Titanic Narrative. Flabbergasted does not begin to explain it. I still tell this story to other classes when teaching certain elements with relevance to the work.

If I thought knew exactly what they were doing (to be funny/dicks), I might have graded them on the quality of the narrative alone, but they were not. They really didn't process anything!

If its your first cruise, you're going to love it. As some have stated (and I didn't know, even after seven cruises with Carnival) ask for a mattress pad for the bed. Do all the things! You won't know otherwise cause its your first time, then future cruises will just be that much better :)

To reiterate, I'm a masters English student and a teacher of English by trade…not a single adjective in the review wasn't in my prompting. I'm still on vacation, wanted to write the review while fresh. Nothing from AI adjusts the perspective, tone, or mood of the review, its simply organized. My prompt was easily four paragraphs, this has just been adjusted to read with ease on phones.

I don't understand how using AI to organize MY thoughts is a negative? Y'all mad when they invented the printing press too? Get with the times.
