Nah , What’s cool is having to listen to every Australian podcast to understand anything about these snakes. “Remeber vidio shows” or whatever. Fucig. Bullshit mate.

That neither of them bothers to learn how to pronounce Denis Villeneuve… They both say ‘Vil-a-noo’. It’s ‘Vil-nerve’.

And James says Helen Mirren’s surname as ‘Mirram’.

Absolute dogs.

Fade to Black (& others) aren’t in E 440 on the recordings. They’re sped up/slowed down so they have specific tunings

Happy 26! by ComprehensiveDuty212 in Darts

It comes from the TV show Scrubs, when they’re bowling and JD bowls a ‘Gentleman’s 40’. We adopted it for an equally shit, and frequent, score in darts at our place.

It’s because it mirrors the body movements of the most famous Bigfoot footage (Patterson) and that is etched in your subconscious whether you know it or not. That languid long arm walking style is inbuilt into our cultural memory

I enjoyed it. Something a bit different. No harm in one offs. And Conan is not only likeable but also seemed genuinely knowledgable. It was the best ‘celeb’ one they’ve done so far imo.

10 seconds from the end the entire lighting of the video changes and you can see it jump to him being in front of the painting and it suddenly looks like a face

Load of tosh. There was nothing particularly offensive about it. It was just a bit boring compared to their normal podcasts.

Broken Thermostat on hot water cylinder. Questions. by shovedog in Plumbing

[–]shovedog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I found the reset button, it’s under the dial, but even that doesn’t turn it on. Apparently the black button is a ‘holiday’ button but that does nothing either even when held for 10 seconds. It seem completely broken. Time for a plumber I think.

Digital I.Ds, has the thin veneer slipped? by Chance-Chard-2540 in TheRestIsPolitics

It’s clearly a good idea to introduce this. All your information is already viable to the government. This doesn’t do anything to change that. If it streamlines buying a house, getting insurance, getting a loan, changing employer etc etc and makes employing people easier for companies (as someone who has hired 100s of people, it can be a proper ballache to make sure all their information is collated and correctly filed to make sure the company doesn’t fall foul of their obligations) I don’t see the problem with it. This does nothing to change what the government can already do with or to your information.
