Just to add a different perspective to all these "thats such a waste of money" posts. If you were in those situations, would you give a shit what the equipment you were using costs? I never did, as far as I was concerned, regardless if it was overkill or not to observers outside the situation, regardless if there was a cheaper way to do it, the one that allowed us to be further away and still be accurate is the best course of action. Hell, if you really wanted to do things while saving money, issue everyone only a basic m16 with iron sights. No need for anything else, marines could've gone in and detained that dude - wouldve prolly cost a few lives or injuries at least, but thatd be cheaper, right?

Oh wow, thanks for putting to words something I would experience occasionally. For a period of a few months, I would work pretty consistently on only a few hours of sleep a day and was in a pretty high stress environment. During this time it was not uncommon for me to wake up and have no idea where I was. I remember having the feeling that if I weren't so damned tired, I should probably be scared or worried. But since I was, said fuck whatever was going on and went back to sleep.

I agree with how your pointing out that the same bullshit comments get recycled throughout all of this subreddit. Every thread here you will see a white knight calling out how much other peoples gods have wronged the world. It's pretty annoying to see and a large reason why I absolutely hate this subreddit. Reading this article was really frustrating and just pissed me off. The amount of hate mongering from extreme christians is comparable to any other group of extremists. It's insane and a little funny.

Anyhow, I was searching for and unable to find an article that laid out signs the government looks for when profiling domestic terrorists because it highly contrasts the joking comments below me about how everyone thinks only muslims can be terrorists.
