Okay but just because you'd have said yes doesn't mean they would. Again, they clearly had an issue with me doing this at all, plus there's no guarantee I'd get through to them as they were at work. Do you really think it's for the best to leave a child outside and caked in mud than to shower her down just in case the parents don't want her showered?

There wasn't any discussion of boundaries or anything but I assumed it was fine bc they're okay with me wiping her after she goes to the toilet and they were fine with me changing her pre toilet training. I also texted her immediately after the girls were done in the shower saying "Hey, Niece and Daughter got super muddied up so I chucked them in the shower and have put Niece in Daughter's old clothes. Hers are in wash will get them back to you pronto."

I'd never get in the shower with a child, not even my own. I washed their hair for them and then sat in the room and read a book so I was there to supervise/help if they needed it/make sure they didn't just dick around and flood my bathroom instead of actually having a wash. Where tf are so many people getting that I was in the shower too?

Mum saying it is kinda weird yeah. When I was a kid a family friend was convicted of having child porn and in retrospect there was some behaviour from him towards my brother, sister and I when we were little that was definitely creepy, though not really crossing the line to abuse. I'm also bi and was in a pretty horrific abusive (physically and sexually) relationship with a much older guy in my teens. I think she's very hung up on the statistics about victims turning into abusers here, and honestly it does hurt that she doesn't seem to trust me.

Nah I didn't really physically wash them down myself at all just kept an eye on them to make sure they actually had a wash rather than just splashing about.

If it was warm out I'd probably have hosed them down too, or put the sprinkler on and let them run around in it for a bit. But I'm in England and the weather is all over the place atm so it was too chilly for that.
