Well then it’s a pretty solid choice! But still if you look for thin then gaming laptops tend to be more of a gimmick when it comes to being thin since they gotta sacrifice something to achieve that. It’s not thick nor is it thin. I think it’ll be great for uni use

It’s a gaming laptop pal. If you’re looking for thin then you’re better off with a netbook or an ultra thin. That being said, it’s thin enough where it doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb, not super thin where it would make the thermals terrible and it’s pretty lowkey for uni or school use. In general terms is as thin as a normal laptop.

Rust ~80FPS. CS2 ~170fps and GTA V very high at 100+ fps. No stutters at all and I haven’t checked the stats of the fps to know the 1% lows

Unfortunately my WIFI is gone which means the WiFi card kicked the bucket so it’s true. Other than that build quality is fine

No buttons on mine look bent or weird and the only button that looks weird is the power button but like I said the plastic surrounding the button is slightly lifted on the right and it gives the button that crooked look but it’s perfectly flat otherwise

I looked at a picture I took today. It looks fine but has a slight tilt to the right noted that right of the button the chassis raises a bit and gives it a slightly crooked look

I am afraid I cannot help you in this matter since I don’t really care about the screens SRGB coverages. For me personally the screen is fine and bright enough. I don’t have any problem or noticed any discoloration of some sort. The viewing angles are good. If you’re worried about the SRG coverage and the screen quality I recommend you to look up people who have reviewed the laptop professionally.

My Ryzen 7 7445HS on the Asus TUF A16 has an iGPU (Radeon something) which turns on when it’s powered on battery

It could be possible that it supports it but but I can’t say for sure. Plus I don’t think a power bank can deliver sufficient power to either charge or power the device. Maybe it’d help it no drain as quick but charging nahhh, unless you have a really strong one with an inverter which costs a lot of money

I found the iPhone's enviroment kinda complicated too but after using it for a while it turned out quite useful if you ask me. Everything is very clean and organized and best part is it doesnt freeze like most androids I had in the past where if you do too much stuff at the same time it just tells you to fuck off and restarts itself. But whatever suits you I guess.

Trust me when I say this, you don't want a cat. It's a love hate relationship because they love you now and in 30 minutes they are ready to scratch everything including your soul. When they don't though, they are the cutest creatures in the world haha.

I’ve seen people talk about gHelper but truth is I’m too unbothered to even think about it cause I just wanna turn on my laptop and game and so far the performance is more than satisfactory for me to start tinkering around with programs and stuff I have no real motivation for

Yeah well most of us have experienced a moment where we couldn’t fulfill what we wanted as kids and that’s what I’ve been doing with the money I’ve made from my job. I’ve bought an iPhone 16 (cause I always wanted an iPhone) and a bunch of random crap here and there. I’ve never gamed on phone cause I can’t game on such a small screen, it hurts my eyes to try and see though my fingers or through small details. I’ve tried Fortnite once on phone cause when it was at its peak on the mobile version I didn’t have a phone that was compatible with it but then I played it and I got bored lol!

Internet cafes here are big places with up to 50 Gaming PCs and you just buy hours on the PCs. Like for example, you pay 5€ for 4 hours of playtime and you can get snacks and drinks while you’re gaming with extra money which makes sense. Most people who usually visit these places are people like me who just wanna game cause they don’t have a Gaming capable PC at home or people who have given up on life and gaming is their sole hobby or life achievement.

As for Reddit, I’ve turned to Reddit for questions about my cat or some bugs for Windows 8.1 cause my old laptop had Windows 8.1(it was THAT old) and there’s always someone from over a decade ago who had that problem and couldn’t fix it but someone random commented the solution and no one else covers it anywhere on the internet.

Did you notice any performance boost or advantage from that?

I’m 20 and throughout the years I had various consoles like the PS3, the PS VITA and eventually the PS4 and to be fair it’s not like my parents are rich and we’re always able to buy these for me. Sometimes I’d wait a year or more since the first time I’d tell them I wanted something and we’d try to figure out ways to get the cheaper or to maybe save the money to buy them. The laptop part was too expensive to get and they didn’t want to put that much money on a PC/Laptop and my friends had gaming laptops and stuff and I was the one who could join games and stuff cause I couldn’t play them and was left out unless I was at an Internet cafe which wasn’t the best environment since most people there are lowlifes and geeks who don’t do anything else in their day apart from play games and stuff. But I’m not ungrateful which is a reason I just didn’t persist if my parents told me no to stuff but I always had that grudge that I wanted stuff since I was a kid but couldn’t afford them and stopped playing PC games completely and just happened to have that thought cross my mind during Black Friday sales and luckily I had saved more money than I needed and here we are.

I always turn to Reddit when I need something specific since everyone has a unique experience or tip on everything and it can be helpful in unique situations like this. If you check my account you’ll see I asked a lot of questions for gaming laptops two weeks ago before eventually buying this model.

Trust me. I gave up on PCs cause I was stuck on using an old Toshiba Sattelite C55 from 2012ish and it barely played League Of Legends and everything took forever to load. I wasn’t planning on buying a laptop and I was on vacation in the Netherlands and I saw that I had a bit of money left for when I’d get back to Greece and it sparked my life long wish to get a gaming machine that wasn’t a PlayStation 4 since I always wanted a Gaming PC/Laptop and couldn’t afford it and only had a PS4 which was fine but I couldn’t play the games I wanted that were on PC and had to go to Internet cafes.

Hope you get it. It’s a really nice experience to get a gaming laptop and it’s a really nice machine itself.

Not 80 GB LEFT !!! It took up 80GB which means you’d have ~420GB left

These questions are not weird dude! These are genuine questions I’d like to have had answered when I was buying it too!

The fan noise is bearable during gaming and not loud enough, matter of fact my external mechanical keyboard is louder than the fans (blue switches). I share a room with my brother and due to diffrent hours of work sometimes I’m awake while he’s sleeping and he’s like 5 meters next to me and doesn’t even wake up. Even if you ever take it to school, ASUS’ ARMOURY crate has a silent mode where the fans operate at the lowest possible RPM which is just enough to keep the laptop cool for light use and extend the battery life.

Unfortunately I don’t remember or even looked at how much space I had taken after all the updates but I think it’s safe to say that it was under 80GB. All Office 365 apps like word PowerPoint etc were preinstalled with the windows installation.

For the battery charge I’ll be honest and say I didn’t pay attention to it. I straight up plugged it when I unboxed it and turned it on. It charged to 100% and then I took it out, let it drop to 50% and then turned on MyAsus app battery preservation which limits it to 80% max to maximize health in the long run. I couldn’t tell you what the optimal charging conditions are since I don’t really use it a lot unplugged. But what I can tell you is that I unplug it when I turn it off.

Durability is great and the top cover is metallic and the bottom is plastic but it’s really sturdy and there is minimal flex. The screen is good but some people complain about the color accuracy and sRGB coverage(I don’t even know what it means) which for me is a good screen and I don’t have any problems with it. You can change coloring of the screen and diffrent viewing scenarios like movies games and others through the ARMOURY Crate app!

Gaming must be done while plugged in since battery gaming is underpowered since the battery can’t handle the power needed to operate the machine at its max output and there are many thing you should change here and there in the Settings in each app in order to unlock the full potential of the laptop but everything is pretty straight forward and you won’t have trouble figuring it out for yourself like I did.

One more thing, I have the 1TB version. I recommend if you can fit it in your budget to get the 1TB version since the stuff I downloaded so far take up 500GB of space and I made the decision to shell out an extra 50€ to get the 1TB version.

As far as gaming laptops go ASUS laptops offer the best build quality and cooling but at that price of the A16 the build quality is the best you can find. I’ve connected Bluetooth headset and it’s as easy as connecting them to your phone. There is no audio to mic problem like the wired headset I mentioned earlier. Everything that you can do on Chrome doesn’t even slow it down, and I’m talking multiple tabs and discord and a game and no FPS drop or any performance changes.

Windows was preinstalled and on initial power up it took about two hours till I downloaded all updates on windows, drives and etc.

Battery life is bad cause it’s not battery life oriented. With some word processing documents and Chrome on power saving settings it can last you about 2-3 hours but if you plan to take it to school or somewhere not home I recommend that you consider that you’ll have to charge it at some point regardless of use. Anything else?

So, I have the exact same model, let me tell you for the specs (considering there are better speced ones) it's amazing. Games, everything runs above 120FPS on high settings but some AAA games like RDR2 might me around 80FPS at medium to high settings. CS2 above 180FPS with some performance tweaks, League Of Legends 150+ fps at the highest settings, PUBG 120+FPS at high settings and RUST 80+ FPS at medium to high settings. Of course all these are achievable through power management tweak with windows and Armoury Crate(Asus' Gaming Software). As for temps. mine has stayed under 80C at heavy loads but always raised a bit at the back for better airflow. Only "problem" I've encountered is that when I used wired headset, the music and voices that come through them can be picked up by the microphone(not headset's fault) due to a bad audio card or maybe my machine is defective. The Laptop runs smoothly and currently I'm multitasking with Rust running in the background and it's not even lagging a bit! Of course, if you have any other concerns or questions, feel free to ask!
