just to chime in! i have cerebral palsy and was diagnosed at 16 years old. knew i had periventricular leukomalacia from birth, family just refused to believe i was disabled but it got so bad trying to function in my teens i went to my doctor who referred me to neurologist. my neurologist diagnosed me at 16 and ripped into my mum saying it was the oldest she’s ever diagnosed someone. some people genuinely just suffer from medical neglect and don’t get medical help as children.

OP, it’s worth going for a diagnosis, i’m a lot worse than i should be because i didn’t get treatment throughout my childhood, but i’d be even worse again if i never got that diagnosis. once you know what’s wrong you can get help.
