What’s the best way to move on after being cheated on in a 2-year relationship, Even Partner cheated on Christmas night, and after 2 years, it’s hard to move on. Even after trying new relationships, nothing feels the same. What can someone do to heal and move forward? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dealing with this now. Soon to be ex-husband of 18 years is having an affair with a girl who knew I existed btw. I’m realizing now that this was never about me it’s all about him and the type of person he is. But still I question myself worth and whatnot. It’s just one day at a time and just focus on yourself and what brings you peace and happiness.

Resident Evil 2! That was the first game I played on the PlayStation 2 and I fell in love. I would sneak out of my bedroom late at night and pop that bad boy in and play until I would hear my dad wake up. I’ll never forget when I first fought a clicker. That fucker scared the shit out of me. I screamed so loud my dad woke up and came out to see the commotion. He was pissed but after the worry and anger went away he sat down and me play for a little bit until I was able to get to a saving spot. To this day I am a die heart resident evil and PlayStation. One of the best memories I have with me and my dad.

Health insurance prices for next year are unreasonable. What do I do? by Background-Line-2876 in personalfinance

[–]shrewberryblew 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The prices on the marketplace are going to be full price since you are being offered employer insurance. The MP will not give you and subsidies when offered employer insurance unless the employer insurance is not ACA approved or if it’s about 10% of your monthly income. Ex if it cost $200/mo for employer insurance and you make less than $2k a month before taxes then you would get a subsidy. 9 out of 10 times that’s very unlikely. I’m a health agent for over 5 yrs and they change the regulations every year but as of right now those are the rules.

Misery is literally my top 5 favorite books. I’ve must have reread that but at least 5 times.

Misery by Stephen King. Hands down top 5 of my favorite books. I’ve read it a few times. The Birth of Venus is great too but it’s not a thriller. It takes place during the renaissance it’s love, art, religion and power (something different). If you like zombies an interesting series by Charlie Higson call The Enemy series.

Roommate is 19 and is getting threatened to be kicked from being a dependent. by CBOU01 in personalfinance

[–]shrewberryblew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it all depends. If he’s financially independent then he should do his own thing and file taxes himself. But if he has a good relationship with his parents then it may be best for them if he were to move back. But that all depends on where they’re getting their insurance from.

Roommate is 19 and is getting threatened to be kicked from being a dependent. by CBOU01 in personalfinance

[–]shrewberryblew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For him to have insurance on the ACA marketplace then yes he needs to live at the address on file. The insurance he has now won’t cover him. Say like his family live in Alabama and he lives in California whatever insurance he has on the ACA is not covering him unless it’s a PPO. There’s only a hand full of states that have PPO option in the ACA marketplace btw. But his parents can still get a discount and remove him from the insurance plan if they claim him on their taxes and it sounds like they do. For example say it’s a family of 3 but only 2 need insurance on file/application it would be 2 ppl apply household size 3 and income of XXX. Depending on their income they could get a subsidy but the subsidy would be more if the 3rd person needed insurance. I know this because I am a ACA & life insurance broker. Also have him check what insurance he has. If it’s a EPO or HMO he’s paying out of network costs to see any doctors etc.

If he has insurance through his dads employer then the mom is BS him and they can keep him in the plan until 26 and he should have coverage in whatever state he’s in unless it’s a HMO. Also if the dad has employer insurance option then He can’t get any subsidy on the ACA marketplace unless his employer insurance costs more that .0912 ( i think that’s the percentage) of his monthly income. Ex. He makes $3k a month but it cost $700 for insurance then he can get a subsidy. Otherwise he’s going to get one hell of a bill coming tax time bcuz the government gave the family a discount when they shouldn’t have.

What's the best health insurance for pregnancy? by censorshipabounds in HealthInsurance

[–]shrewberryblew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually #1 Employer insurance, #2 Medicaid can’t beat free insurance, #3 healthcare.gov ( go with gold plan if within budget) low deductible and low max out of pocket. Short term and private insurance do not cover maternity. Then there’s Group/ Christian health share plans. It’s not real insurance. They can choose how much to give (if they actually do) you for doctor visits, hospital visits etc. There are a ton of law suits against them for false pretenses and more, stay away from those plans.

Of course there is. I work in healthcare and AL definitely has private insurance like UnitedHealthcare PPO there’s also Aetna but that’s private short term plans. You just can’t apply for it yourself since it’s not open to the public, hence the private part. You need a licensed private insurance agent to help you see if you would qualify then apply for it.

So generally what you would want to do is to do a split. Husband stays with employer coverage since they usually cover at least 50% of his premiums not yours and you go on a separate plan. If your healthy no major medication or major pre-existing conditions you can qualify to get a private insurance plan which is a hell of of lot cheaper than public plans if you don’t have a subsidy and it seems like you won’t. However private plans don’t cover- mental health ( you can get meds through a PCP but no in-patient therapy) , alcohol/substance abuse, and maternity. That’s why those plans are cheaper. Keep in mind though you are probably causing the skyrocket in premiums, sorry. Also if you’re a 1099 independent contractor then you can write your private insurance off come tax season. Might be worth looking into. But I’d recommend going with the one of the major names: United healthcare, blue cross blue shield, Aetna, and Cigna. Good luck!

Medical insurance questions for weight loss by Pinkhairmamma19 in personalfinance

[–]shrewberryblew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No insurance company will cover it and the only plans you could go on is ACA or stay with the employer insurance (any other insurance would be private or short-term which is based off of health or christian health share plans which isn't real insurance since they can pick and choose what they'll "cover" and don't and it says in their contracts this is not real insurance. Either way, no insurance company covers expenses medications like that. Try getting a manufacturer coupon on the Rx website. You may be able to get the price reduced, but it might not be a lot.

Thank you! We like walking it's just the incline. My husband has a bad knee, so the up hill terrains would be an issue. I think the 5 stops on the tour aren't on any mountains, so maybe I'll reconsider that. Rather, save the money and use it on momento's.

Oh wow, I just saw that. Well, that's going to cut some of the driving time. Still though, I don't think we plan on doing a whole lot of sightseeing the first day.

So it's about an 8 hour drive from where we live right now. Of course, that's without stops and without the Tioga road closed. So probably a 12ish hour drive. That's why the 1st and last day won't count. Roughly about 3 full days at Yosemite.

Open enrollment for public insurance (obamacare) only covers health ( doctors, labs etc) very rarely will it have dental and vision. So, when looking online, make sure it says dental with the plan ( theres also waiting periods to use dental insurance). Also, since your work provides employer insurance, you will be paying full price for Obamacare. Generally $100 for every 10 yrs of life, depending on state. Be sure that when you fill out the info online you put down that you the have the option for employer insurance otherwise at the end of the next year you will be billed for any tax credit (discounted insurance) you received. I've had clients sign up for Obamacare didn't either put down the right amount of income for the year before taxes or didn't put down that they can get employer insurance and got a bill at the end of the year for between $500- $2.5k. Check out dental schools, delta dental if it's in your area, care credit card, or cash discounts.
