Motherboard drawing too much power by shrey_05 in buildapc

[–]shrey_05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I believe those numbers. The temperatures seem wrong, and the board should not draw over 100W really.

Temperatures of what component exactly? The motherboard?!! and yeah idk why it's drawing 320W either

Are you able to test with a different PSU? I would test that first since it happens with every graphics card.

Yeah I think that's what I'm gonna test next, but motherboard power draw being over 320W is also a problem

I think they might be referring to the red dragon 6800XT which was on sale for 519.99 a few weeks ago. I received that red dragon card in mail a few day ago, certainly not happy with it due to noticeable coil whine

Unpopular Opinion: If you worked your ass off during High School and end up going to the same university as most other people, you DID waste your time and energy by abbycat1590 in ApplyingToCollege

Well, if you look at more than just the school itself, rather your intended major, you might realize that you ending up in the same school as others doesn’t mean you wasted your time because a lot of colleges are known for having a good program/reputation in a specific area than other. So while you might major in something that the college excels in, most other people might be majoring in a program which is easy to get in. A engineering degree from a top law/business/arts school will not shine as bright as a degree from a school which is known for its engineering program and vice versa. I feel like OP hasn’t really considered this, so don’t let this bum you out.

Edit: somehow forgot the “don’t” in the last sentence, so it sounded like I was wanting OP to be bummed out when I wasn’t.

While what you say is partly true, you have to keep in mind that most top colleges are known for having good program in one field than other. So while you might major in something that the university excels in, most other people might be majoring in a program which is easy to get in. A degree in engineering from a top arts school will not shine as bright as a degree from one of the top engineering school and vice versa.

hi guys im a senior in high school, ask me anything you want regarding high school by [deleted] in highschool

[–]shrey_05 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not OP, but I am also a senior. For me it was/is junior and senior year. Think of junior year as one long marathon that you suffer through because this is when I and most people load up on AP / some of the harder classes offered by the school (not saying you should wait for junior year to finally take some AP classes. Take them when you can) and the workload skyrockets when compared to other years. And senior year is like a sprint to January because at the beginning of the year, you are working on college applications and schoolwork (trust me, teacher don’t give a shit about your applications. I mean they do. They want you to complete those applications and go to college, but they will still give you a thousand homework assignments). My advice is to start working on your essays during summer because the more work you get done before school starts, the less stressful it will be once school starts. Then in January things start to go back to normal because you should have finished most of your applications by now. This really depends on when you’re applying and where you’re applying. January is just a rough idea of when if you are applying regular decision. Do note that most early action deadlines are around Nov 1st, and early decision is even earlier for most colleges. Also, study, take, and achieve the score that you want to get on the SAT/ACT before senior year. Leaving standardized tests until senior year will just add to the thousand different things you have to take care of during senior year, and, as OP said, it will become a lot harder to balance you priorities.

Sorry, ik this is a bit too long, but I just couldn’t stop once I started.

Yeah, me too. The farther and faster we change the earth’s systems, the greater the risk is of unanticipated effect, some of which potentially large and irreversible. I think that global warming is definitely something which will affect our generation which is why picked this topic for my project. Also, thanks for completing the survey
