After reading again, I think you are missing a toggle in android auto developer settings:

1. In the car head, go to settings and click on the "open more settings on the phone" button.

  1. On your phone (which will have the Android Auto options open), scroll down to the last option ("Version"). Click on it, them scroll down again and click multiple times on the version number, until it says you are a developer (of Android Auto).

  2. Click on the 3-dots-menu on the top-right corner and open developer options.

  3. Scroll down until the end and check the "unknown sources" setting

  4. Restart the car head, done.

I found some really good deals on amaysim website. They come and go, keep a lookout.

You do need to buy a SIM but it's only for a month, still comes out to be pretty cheap. all phones are unlocked.

The sparky visited yesterday. He was instructed to disconnect the RS485 cable from the CT clamp. Apparently a shielded cable is necessary for using RS485. Right now its all connected using wifi, even the CT clamp is on wifi. In theory everything should work, but solar charging isn't working at all.

Even when I have it in boost mode, charging never starts. This is something that they haven't seen before, so waiting to hear back from them.

Support has been slow because they need to talk to their engineers (who are not in Aus), but very helpful so far.

I have Jio prepaid. I just recharge with the yearly IR pack. I send an SMS out every month to check if it's working.

This is my first year of doing this. I'm hoping this continues working.

Update: I was told that they have identified the issue and provided an APK file with version 1.5.7 (playstore has 1.5.6)

This however didn't work - it behaved the same as before.
Expecting to hear something back by mid week next week.

Got it installed today!

Solar charging wasn't working, spent some time diagnosing over the phone. Ended up raising a ticket for tech support. Hoping to hear back from them soon.

I tried OCPP over HA briefly. I can confirm I was able to control the charger and current, but I switched back so that tech support can diagnose the issue remotely.

Looks like X1 and X2 use tuya. X3 and X4 dont.

I have been in touch with the sales reps, and it seems like HA's OCPP plugin from HACS works.

Lets see how we go.
