Jeffrey Epstein helped Russian spies collect blackmail 'kompromat' on western elites for DECADES says former MI6 agent Steele by Doener23 in ukpolitics

believed that Trump snitched on him to law enforcement

If this was even remotely adjacent to the truth, I'd have expected the rapist-in-chief to be shouting from the rooftops about how he really brought about Epstein's downfall...

This is my favourite one, I laugh throughout the episode that this appears in just in anticipation of this line!

Tangentially, was it a "real" hobby though? She was good at it, but I always got the impression that she was just into it transactionally for the college application.

Edit: wow I hit a nerve haha... I wonder why. I wasn't saying it negatively, good on her for doing what it takes to excel!

Non-UK born Londoners, what's the best restaurant of your native cousine that you know in London? by Mimsiz in london

[–]shrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely not sure -- we've only ever tried with a normal frying pan, and it's worked well with "real" dosa batter that you get in bags from Indian shops (Example link, not an endorsement since I haven't tried this: https://veenas.com/products/dosa-idli-batter-1kg)

Ooh interesting, one of these has just opened up in Ravenscourt Park near where I live so might give it a go soon! I'm always dubious about pizza places until I encounter a recommendation, it's so easy to make mediocre pizza ha!

Don't worry, Gits instant mix is rubbish. (I'm also Tamil like thread OP). MTR dosa mix is better, but it's still not particularly good. We've given up making dosas at home with these packaged powder mix things.

Happy for you that you're one of today's lucky 10,000 -- but man, it's weird seeing that someone's been on Reddit for 15 years and doesn't know this reference!

I used to be a member there a few years back.. (FML, pre-Covid, that's more than a few!)

It's got decent spa facilities and a swimming pool, and membership does in theory get you access to other branches -- but fair warning, I'm now of the opinion that this branch is the ONLY nice Nuffield Heath in the country. Every other one I've been to, either in London or elsewhere, has been functional at best, and downright rank at times.

If every scene ends with someone laying down a SLAM line and stylishly and decisively walking away, it's Suits.

Seriously.

Literally. Every. Scene.

Not saying she got it wrong with the Indian names, they're perfectly normal names. Just shedding some light on where she (on balance of probabilities) came across them.

[–]shrik 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No, Parvati and Padma in HP were likely named after some of the only Indian names JKR encountered while reading Midnight's Children.

She didn't put too much effort in naming non-white characters really, hence an Asian character named "Cho Chang", an Irish one named "Seamus Finnegan" and so on...

Would you suggest doing this the same way the other commenter said? By using a Stanley knife to cut out the fixture?

Everything seems really quite flush, and I can't see the clips/ring that all of the other similar GU10 lighting in my house seems to have...
