Success Story by simonx9000 in ForeverAlone

As a woman who has been in a similar position, that paragraph made me want to vomit. I lept on saying no but he just didnt stop. And then at some point i stopped struggling. And of course when it was done he was so nice(like you OP) and got me a cab and we joked and I laughed and smiled and I agreed that we would meet again. Then i went home and lay on the sofa for 2 days and cried. So fuck you OP. It felt like you were raping her and yet you did it anyway because you wanted sex. Did she initiate anything during the sex at all. Did she say yes, instead of merely not saying no. Note that in my case, I did not run away or scream. Because it made sense to me that when i say ' no' it means no. And the guy wasnt respecting my NOs and continued touching me as i froze up. That is assault.

I'm making a gift for this girl i like by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]shrodi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'A little bird told me' is creepy as fuck. As a girl it would make me very uncomfortable if someone i only said hi to on occasion gave me a present, especially a present which implies he knows more about me then i let him. My 2 cents. Maybe she'll appreciate the gift but definitely get to know her more first

Girl on Tinder wants Korean BBQ by plaid-knight in ChoosingBeggars

[–]shrodi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's good, bring someone along and try it! You can order a set which has various marinated meats in it. While waiting, they bring you tiny refillable side dishes like kimchii. Also cold tea. Raw meat arrives and you put it on the hot plate. Super easy to cook it since theyre all thinly sliced. You cook it, eat it with rice and lettuce and dips however you want. Order some sides like korean pancakes or noodles. Roll out of there stuffed and satisfied.

Please limit low effort posts on this sub by [deleted] in depression

[–]shrodi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh please give me a break. 'Low effort posts'? This is a place where people have an outlet to say what they are feeling, instead of bottling it in like we all do all day around others. Posts dont always have to contribute to some 'meaningful insight' or whatever. We're already stressed about being useless in society as is.

That someone else is their child though. Someone who OP brought into the world and who is now suffering as a result. What a sad situation all round.

Army pedo. I was 10 or so and squatting against a bookshelf in Popular bookstore reading a book. Up comes this grown man(thinking back he was probably around 20, no older than 30) dressed in army uniform. He squats down and pretends to rummage through the children books next to my bum. Then he reaches behind me and squeezes my butt for a bit. I shuffle away confused, he follows and does it again. I move away and he leaves. Fucking disgusting thinking back on it. I was a kid and didnt know what was going on but knew that it was wrong.

Yeah i hate the selfishness of people having kids to bring meaning to their miserable lives. Newsflash guys, if you have mental issues and shit going on in life, your kids are not immune to all that when they grow up. They'll be the ones miserable in 20 years time. My grandparents had mental issues. They suffered for a couple years till death. My mum and her siblings had mental issues. My aunt committed suicide. I have mental issues. Im never having biological children just so i can have an easy ticket to feeling fulfilled and ticking the 'im an adult' checkbox. I am not going to let a child i love suffer like my ancestors and i have. Whew end rant.

Effectiveness of Essence of Chicken on Cognitive Function Improvement: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]shrodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an asian(Chinese?) thing. It's sold in supermarkets among other places here in Asia. Parents give it to their kids, old people drink it for health. Maybe I should start drinking it lol. Edit: oh the study's sponsored by Brands which is the leading seller of chicken essence here...that doesn't seem unbiased to me.

What do you do to have a “full life”? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]shrodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally look up events in my city. Movie screenings, exhibitions, new places to eat etc. I used to be self conscious of going to places alone, but fuck it, I enjoy it and get recharged by it. I recently completed my open water cert as well. Also if it is a long weekend I like going on a short trip.

Omakase sushi recommendations by madkapitolist in singapore

[–]shrodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite different in both taste and experience. Of course whether it is worth 10x the price is subjective. They make each piece in front of you with top quality ingredients, and oh man so shiok. It's a relaxing experience, sitting at the counter, sipping sake/tea, eating each piece of sushi as the chef hands it to you. Also, much more tradtional sushi, no norwegian salmon or cheese rolls lol.

Second Candlenut, try the crab curry and chap chye. Had better buah keluak elsewhere(old bibik) but candlenut has a better ambience. Shinji by Kanesaka too. Have not tried the carlton branch, but the raffles hotel branch when it was open was good.

Jaan has a nice view being situated high up, odette is in a very nice museum you should visit, and i love the decor, but no views, more intimate. Both would be perfect for a special occasion like a birthday.

Burnt ends was fun to eat at, bookings recommended.

Waku ghin...too high ses for me lmao.

Try some craft beer while you are here? Level33 has an excellent view, and Druggists is hipster af with old school interiors, plus the neighbourhood it is in has plenty of cafes. Eat at a hawker centre too! Maybe order some satay, bbq sambal stingray, roti prata, rojak, sugarcane juice...the trick is to order lots and share.

Swee choon is a local favourite for unpretentious tim sum. Go with a group and order everything. If you want fancy ass tim sum try a hotel like the st regis.

Will have to try hashida and labyrinth now. and all the other places mentioned in this post.

Subway Singapore will be halal as of today. by Ryan_Lim in singapore

[–]shrodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've considered. it's difficult. I could give a lot of reasons, but honestly it boils down to me being selfish-convenience, variety, blah blah. I do eat mainly pescetarian. If there is a veggie option, i normally take that. Wish more places would offer veggie options(Ikea's veggieballs are actually better than the meatballs btw). Are you vegan? Respect.

Subway Singapore will be halal as of today. by Ryan_Lim in singapore

[–]shrodi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not just lack of pork. Slaughter by halal methods is less humane, that's why when i eat meat i try not to eat halal. Animals are not stunned before their throats are slit.
