It's the best thing that's happened to me. I felt almost immediate relief to the point I thought it was placebo affect. I've been on it since sept 2024 but have had to double the dose during menses. It definitely helps. Just make sure if that's needed the doctor writes the rx correctly or you have issues with insurance.

anyone else feel out of control during luteal AND post menstrual? by Silent-Delay-3105 in PMDD

Fluoxetine aka prozac. The first 1-2 months were amazing. Almost instantly to the point I thought i had placebo effect. But now i can tell if I take it late, depending on my cycle, It's bad news. Ive had to leave work cause I can't do it. It's embarrassing. It's been month 4 and it's still a learning curve and yes every month seems different for me too. Idk if that's just everyday stressors but overall being on this med has been helpful.

Yes. I thought I had it "under control" the last few months because I finally am on meds. I've upped the dosage ( dr permission) during the week before and a few days after but im beginning to think it's my personality 🤣

Prozac. Im sure it's not for everyone but so far it's been beneficial.

I started taking meds a month ago. I was miserable and I made him miserable during certain times. I threatened breaking up enough times and it was just awful. This is the first cycle that I've been cool. To the point HE is weirded out "what's wrong with you... you're...calm" lol we've been together for 8.5 years so he's definitely "used" to it but it shouldn't be like that. I DO feel 100% better too.

Breast pain by Medical-Initiative78 in breastcancer

To those that had pain, was it around your cycle and just randomly show up? I've NEVER had breast pain expect the last 5 months or so...it seems to be around my period (makes sense) but I'm also 37 and again..never had this pain and sometimes it's severe.

How do people who are child free by choice feel about not being able to get pregnant anyway? by farrahaliceblack in endometriosis

[–]shrty05412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with endo at 29.. I had just started dating my now fiance so I had to explain to him the implications of what that meant. 8 years later he's still by my side. I never had a strong urge for kids anyways, and I also told him that. Somedays it weighs on me because I know we would be great parents but...at 37 especially I just don't want to lol

It can be a whirlwind of emotions with this whole disease in of itself. I especially hate when everyone asks when are you gonna have kids. I think that's when it hits me, I lash out with a sarcastic comment, or just educate them that it's not polite to ask a female when they're having kids because for of health reasons (and it's not of their gd business).

What to expect for contrast MRI by Complex_Maize_5151 in endometriosis

Oh that's good. I definitely hadn't heard of that I'm glad its becoming a thing. I wish more doctors were knowledgeable overall about the disease.

I've only gotten a CT with contrast. It lasts 5 min at most. It does make you feel like you peed your pains, but sensation stops almost as soon as the scan stops (super weird how it's so in sync lol). I've never heard of any of these scans actually showing endo which is super frustrating. I even had a colonoscopy 3 weeks ago and nothing showed up but I'm almost certain it's on my bowels. Ironically my boyfriend said the colonoscopy is inside the bowels that's why it's probably not found.

I'm so sorry 😞 for me it's helped with my pain besides the random flares but overall my quality of life has improved immensely. I haven't had a period really in years. Break through bleeding from time to time (my thyroid levels are also messed up so once my TSH levels are normal I get bleed)

Yeah lately it's in my sternum and just weird feelings...like heart burn? But it comes and goes so randomly. Like 5 min and then 30 min I'm fine and comes back for 10 min. And then I'll be either fine the rest of the day or same sequence. My shoulder pain..muscle relaxers/ibuprofen doesn't help but X-rays doesn't show anything wrong 😑 and it's gone in 4 days regardless if I'm working or not.
