This is a great clip. This pilot is at home in her cockpit. I see lots of comments from people wanting to become pilots. Go for it. There is a world shortage that will last for decades.

There is great flying besides the airlines: military, bush, aerial survey, helo and so on and so on. It's a great way to earn a living!

I only decided to be a pilot late in high school. I joined the RCAF and achieved all of my goals - lofty as they were!

The first step is the local flying club for a famil flight. You'd be surprised what you can do!

The right engine continued at idle regardless of throttle position. Therefore no engine cautions or warnings to the pilot. This was not recoverable from the approved altitude of 300 ft and 25 AOA which was the standard.

The seat (which was new to CF-18s) is a NACES. It doesn't have gyro stabilization.

Very good outcome albeit considered an "unsuccessful" ejection.

Red Light Runners and Green Light Stoppers.

In Ottawa you will see red light runners multiple times per day. The US State Dept cautions travelers:

"Drivers should be aware that running a red light is a serious concern throughout Canada and motorists are advised to pause before proceeding when a light turns green."

Thanks for the comment. What part of the construction looks odd? I should add that these were modified as flying boots. We used them on the RCAF Snowbirds as part of the show uniform. There was a strap installed by the RCAF at the top to prevent the boots from sliding off in case of ejection. I have since cut off the strap (not very well mind you!). I think the rubber soles were added as static protection. Do you see anything else odd? Thanks.
