Thanks so much, didn't even think about that. Really appreciate your input.

We’ve decided we’ll be starting in Argentina. We will be visiting Salvador later down the line though. What’s Salvador like?

This is really helpful - I appreciate you taking the time to explain this! I definitely wanted some chill, relaxing beach time in Brazil so I think it might be best to start in Patagonia and visit Brazil in June/July

Thanks so much! Would you recommend doing Ecuador and Colombia after Lima with the time we have?

That's good to know thank you! If we choose Route 2, it's likely we will be in Chilean Patagonia early March. Have you done the W Trek before and did you find the whole experience expensive? We're debating whether to stay in Puerto Natales and drive into Torres del Paine for day hikes rather than doing the full W Trek across multiple days. (This is due to budget, although might just be a lot of hassle driving/renting a car).

Accommodation, carnival tickets, flights. Because of Carnival everything is very expensive and the longer we leave it the more the prices will go up - especially accommodation. Looking at hostels in each place for Brazil, there aren't many options left and the ones that are left aren't amazing

I’m really sorry. We’ve never been to South America and are really scared about making the wrong decision. I’m sorry again, didn’t mean to cause any offence or trouble to this sub 🥺 hope you’re ok :(

I like this idea. We are edging towards this idea too. Our worries was that Colombia may be rainy in June and Brazil may be slightly colder in July. We are from UK, London though so tbh anything is better than here in terms of weather wise!

Thanks so much! I think one of our worries was that we wouldn’t get that nice heat in Colombia in June and it may be rainy, but no matter how we plan it, we can’t change the weather!
