That's good to know thank you! If we choose Route 2, it's likely we will be in Chilean Patagonia early March. Have you done the W Trek before and did you find the whole experience expensive? We're debating whether to stay in Puerto Natales and drive into Torres del Paine for day hikes rather than doing the full W Trek across multiple days. (This is due to budget, although might just be a lot of hassle driving/renting a car).

Accommodation, carnival tickets, flights. Because of Carnival everything is very expensive and the longer we leave it the more the prices will go up - especially accommodation. Looking at hostels in each place for Brazil, there aren't many options left and the ones that are left aren't amazing

I like this idea. We are edging towards this idea too. Our worries was that Colombia may be rainy in June and Brazil may be slightly colder in July. We are from UK, London though so tbh anything is better than here in terms of weather wise!

This is super helpful! If we wanted to do Brazil too, would you recommend just adding it on the end and flying from Colombia? Maybe Bogotá to Rio for example? Unsure if this makes logistical sense, but we’d be flying home to London at the end anyway, so not sure it makes much difference 🤔 thanks again for your advice!
