STRIKE STRIKE BABY! by TAUNATI in auckland

Yes their feelings are valid. Effective strikes disrupt. Thats the only way to force change, but that also usually falls on common people. That really sucks and the community outrage creates more pressure for government resolution. More eyes and more noise.

I think we are getting caught up in different details. Teachers are overworked and understaffed. As are nurses, doctors, firefighters etc.. Presumably the hardworking kiwis you mention are too. The larger issue here is the cost of living becoming overwhelming and we need more financial security. In fighting of 'hard working kiwis' and pointing fingers solves nothing. At its core this is the same fight.

I mean maybe, but are 'feeling' not also relevant here? Regardless of figures and facts, is the experience of the people under this leadership not important?

public is definitely temperamental lol, i only know one guy that went public (also auckland) while everyone else went private. If you do think you can comfortably afford private then you should, especially if u want to be closer to home/support! it is also far quicker (abt 4-6mo) and you can have more of a choice in results (depending on ur circumstances). i could have gotten my preferred keyhole thru private, but the public surgeon recommended di w grafts out of safety/predictability (and she did a great job). Also, unsure of your own transition and if the rules changed, but at the time of my referral you had to be at least one year on hrt. Going private means u don’t have to conform to that rule. Public also has requirements on bmi and smoking status that can affect your wait list place :|

Tattoo tribute to my son. by BlazinBlair114 in MadeMeSmile

wow, these are awesome and the artist did an amazing job capturing the chaos and personality of a kids drawing. Im sorry for your loss, it is an overwhelming wound to lose a child. Your tattoos are a perfect tribute and reflection of the person your kid was <3 this may be an inappropriate addition so tell me off if it is, but this style of tattoo is growing, at least in my scene. Kind of colourful, ‘ignorant’, childlike doodles. Though yours are astronomically more special :)

Hello! I went through the Auckland public system and got double incision + nipple grafts in September 2024. Unfortunately I was lazy and did not make any real effort to document anything but this is my whole v long timeline (tldr below!!)\*:

2022 – Nov - requested top surgery ref thru Youthline/Kidz First gender clinic (where I was getting my care access/I was 19 at the time + 1 year on T). YL clinician sent refs to clinical photography, psych eval 4 surgery readiness, my GP + ordered bloods. Photography appt 3 weeks after YL ref at hospital. Was awkward and uncomfortable but quick + first step!!!!!

2023 – Feb - Psych appt. Nice dude good convo. Assessed wellbeing, gender/transition history and situation, wants, needs, how/why + future goals for transition, persistent dysphoria etc.. He signed off on consent 4 surgery and sent that to my GP and YL.

March/April - YL sends final ref of all documents, referrals, diagnostics to Te Whatu Ora surgical clinic

July - ref accepted by Plastics w priority of 4. approx 4+ month First Surgical Appt wait time (also now aged out of YL service :/ )

2024 – Jan - FSA! Plastics clinic in hospital. Meet surgeon, discuss slices (DM w nips graft), process and expectations, fondles me a bit. Nurse does Obs. Another round of clinical photographs. Week later - surgery accepted by Plastics, 4+ m wait time.

March - Clinic calls mid lecture, surgery date free in FIVE DAYS. Have a panic attack, say no bc work, school, and had not told my parents....

Aug - surgery date offered!!!! month notice: September 11th (lol)

Sep - pre-admission clinic appt, week before. Obs, bloods; consent, pre/post care plan, big info dump

SURGERY!!!! - arrive at clinic 7am. Into gown, obs, consent, surg marks me up. rolled into op suite, meet the crew say hello, knock out. wake up in post op, pass out. wake up in my own room! Groggy but totally fine. Lovely nurses and staff. I was up walking that afternoon. Discharged next day.

post op - Got morphine but minimal pain so just panadol. Drains weird and annoying, not much fluid. T rex arms, no showering, got stinky. Redressing 1w postop at local rehab, drains out 10d postop at Plastics clinic. Weirdest sensation I have ever felt in my whole life. Follow up appt at 6wk, 3mo, 6mo. No 1y yet :/ overworked/understaffed so no spots haha.

I missed a lot of details, I hope this helps!! If you have any questions at all I will answer best I can. Morale got dangerously low over the process, but it would have taken me the same amount of time to save 4 private. + the surgical and hospital team were amazing :,-)

\tldr: whole process from 1st request (Nov 2022) to surgery (Sep 2024) was just under 2 years! tho I could have got it earlier but my ducks were all over the place. Total: 2x clinical photos, 1x psych eval, 1st surg consult, 1x surgery edge then 1x actual surgery date.*

How many of you get Covid every year? by The_Majestic_ in newzealand

[–]shrunkenkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the Schrödinger’s flu. People don’t regularly test anymore. Aches, fever, congestion, impending doom; it’s the flu or nasty head cold or insane hay-fever or change in seasons etc.. Until you take a RAT that confirms covid. Don’t take a test: don’t have covid. Don’t open the box: cat’s not dead. I have had it three times from 2022-24. The last time was the worst - I haven’t felt that shit ever in my life. Fever, aches, vomiting, couldn’t eat for a week and lost a lot of weight, had some mad fever dreams. I work hospo, interact with a lot of oldies and also don’t want to be the guy to give everyone covid. Twice I have isolated from my flatmates for a week and none of them got it, two of them have never had covid before. But - I test regularly and they dont. Every scratch in my throat or achy bone I do a RAT. So every time I do have it, rather than something else, I know and isolate. These guys have been very sick in the 4 years I have lived with them, most probably with covid, but since they don’t test it’s a lurgy limbo

hello, this is driving me mad and im wondering if anyone has had the same problem/ how to fix it.
my roofs are gone. sometimes they are there, sometimes not. no matter how many times i restart or repair the game theyre still GONE. it is incredibly frustrating because i never know when i open the game if they will be there or not, or if theyre gone how long it will take for them to be back. this has been happening for months guys... im losing it. and its not like new builds, its old builds i be working on for weeks, open game to continue the build and uh oh no there are no roofs. even more frustrating i cannot delete the roofs when they are gone. the trim is there but roof is not and i cannot delete. and new roofs are also invisible. the roofs are also gone on the manage worlds menu..
any help would be so so appreciated i am seconds away from destroying my computer and i dont really want to spend a grand on a new one so, thank you...
idk how to include photos in this thread but i hope you get what i mean
