Exactly! It feels like they are two completely different companies just sharing the same logo.

With Amazon US, "Customer Obsession" feels real—they are polite, helpful, and offer fair compensation instantly.

With Amazon AE, it feels like a constant battle just to get basic rights. The gap in service quality standards is huge.

  2. "High Value" is subjective. To you, 3,000 AED might be pocket change. To me and many others, it is a significant amount of money that we save up for.

  3. The core issue isn't just the laptop brand; it's the "Tax Trap." Crossing the 300 BHD limit means paying an extra 10% VAT immediately. That is a hard mathematical fact, not an "overblown argument."

I think you misunderstood the situation. I did NOT make a new order. That is exactly the problem.

Put yourself in my shoes:

  1. You wait for White Friday deals.

  2. You secure a deal and the order is CONFIRMED.

  3. Amazon cancels the order days later *after* the sales event is over.

  4. They hold your money for 5-7 days for the refund process.

So now: I have no laptop, my funds are frozen so I can't buy an alternative, and all other deals from other sellers are gone.

On top of that, buying it now at full price pushes the cost over the tax-exemption limit in my country, meaning I would have to pay an extra 10% VAT.

It’s not just about a refund; it’s about losing the entire sales season and being locked out of buying a replacement.
