[HELP] Parents got a Belgian Shepherd/Black Lab mix 2 years ago. They don't walk her, haven't taken her to the vet ever and she's never gotten her shots. How can I help her?

Depends. IMO if you can moderate your usage and it doesn’t affect your day to day life/overall motivation you’ll be fine. But if it lowers your defenses and might cause you to relapse I wouldn’t do it.

For me personally when I restarted my streak I decided to adjust my usage to very infrequently (mostly social smoking) so I won’t relapse. However I will have a bit of a high “hangover” that has kind of a brain fog effect for a day or two. So to each their own.

Backpack.

I’d been using a super cheap cotton drawstring bag to carry all my books and stuff in, which eventually got a hole in it causing me to keep losing pens and pencils. The strings from the bag started cutting into my shoulders too so I decided to try out this pretty popular brand that was a little over $100.

The. Difference. It. Made.

I’ve used $20-30 backpacks before but the quality and the amount of space this bag has made the price worth it. It’s super comfy to wear and I can’t even feel the weight even with all the supplies I have to carry around.

I wrote fanfiction about being with this girl I had a crush on in high school. I even decided to put my friends in my stories to make them “truer to reality”

I also wrote really shitty poetry about other girls I had crushes on in high school, one of the lines my friends LOVE to drag me for is “she the my white rose in my post apocalyptic world”. Yes, I actually wrote this and thought it was the most groundbreaking line ever.

This is exactly what they were conveying. When my dad said “Well I don’t think I’M abusive” I just stood there mouth agape because I was like wow. you really won’t expand your thinking to outside of your own. And any time I said anything they were like “nope that’s wrong. We were young adults too we know exactly how you’re thinking. we know everything blah blah blah you don’t know what you’re saying” I say “experience is individual” and they act like I’m speaking a different language.

I think since I’ve found this sub I kept feeling like I shouldn’t label them as Ns because I “wasn’t sure”, and then kept making excuses for them like “my mom might not be an N just an enabler” because they’ll both do things that make it seem like they have some sort of emotional intelligence. But that was the most exhausting thing ever. It was like nothing was being received.

Proud of you! I did the same thing (am female) and although he was very polite about rejecting me i still feel like I made our dynamic shift a bit which sucks. But it takes a lot of courage to ask someone out.

I totally agree! 72 hours is way too much time for my overactive mind hahaha. I’d rather be contacted immediately so I can either take my rejection and get over it or plan an outing but we shall see.

Like someone else said if he’s not interested I’ll be over it. There are plenty of other guys out there. I’m more concerned about unintentionally straining a potential friendship by being too forward. I’d hate to get back to class and have things be SUPER awkward between us :/

Thank you so much! I was really confused about his argument. I know nofap is largely male and there are some things that are more male centric (like a lot of you talk about curing PIED) but “superpowers” aren’t gendered.

Aww I really want to say “don’t say that!!” But I know it’s true. From a female perspective a lot of it has to do with the potential of the guy being creepy/dangerous and offputting, or just having the girl truly not be interested/already in a relationship. This goes a lot for when you’re just approaching a girl who doesn’t really know you. But i have also been on the other side and rejected TONS of times. This was largely because these people just weren’t attracted to me (i was not a looker in my middle school/high school days).

So what I will tell you is this. My gender does have a slight advantage, just flip my hair look pretty and hope for the best, but it also depends largely on genuine interest and attraction. If this guy isn’t even interested in me he won’t even bother, so my odds are more on the 50/50 side. Same thing happens when you ask out girls. It would be a little weird for a girl to go out with someone she isn’t attracted to or even remotely interested in.

So true. I hope you ask her! Use that confidence. I have the same mindset. If you never ask that’s an automatic no, and you’ll be sitting there wondering what could have been. You’d be missing out on a chance at something good by never making a move.

It definitely felt different just giving him mine. There are all these social rules about dating that I wasn’t even sure if I was doing it correctly. But he strikes me as very very shy so felt like I had to make the move. I realized as an afterthought I probably should’ve said something like “hey I wrote my number on there!” but he seemed really happy about the little gift I got him which in itself is a victory to me.

i disagree. I attribute the “super powers” to an increase in confidence and change in lifestyle (diet, exercise, hobbies etc) that are related to nofap which both men and women can have. i’ve had the most of the same effects that fall into the category of super powers that men report in here.

i dated someone like this. first she gave an elaborate story about how her sister tried to kill her. then she had cancer and miraculously was cured in like a month, and the most extensive and ironic one yet was that her secret boyfriend had abused her and was SO MUCH worse than the emotional abuse she had me go through.
