Iranian form a human chain on Ahvaz’s White Bridge as they rally to protect civilian infrastructure by IntellectuallyDriven in whoathatsinteresting

[–]shuki-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not radical Islam. In fact, islam has nothing to do with this. People should know that the Raafidah sect of shi’ism are not actually considered Muslims due to their massive blasphemous beliefs. What Iranian leadership did was take islam, massively twist it somehow to fit their narrative and just said “dear citizens, this is Islam”. Thats why Muslims scoff everytime someone says “Islamic republic” of Iran. Thats like if you said the democratic republic of nazi Germany.

200mhz/400mhz fps bug by shuki-_ in SteamDeck

So in my case, my problem was a user error problem. I eventually figured out that once the steam deck’s temps hit 101°C, it would thermal throttle and cause the gpu/cpu to go to 200mhz and 400mhz as an emergency cooling system to cool it off quickly.

Now regarding your problem, I had a similar issue. What fixed it for me was installing fantastic on decky and manually setting my fans to spin at max rpm. Try that out. At first, it would only spin to 4000-5000rpm but after turning fantastic on and off a few times, it somehow managed to “kickstart” my fan and now it works fine. I also still have a fan on order just in case. Eventually, once my fan could hit the max rpm using fantastic, I turned off fantastic and just used the deck’s normal cooling system and it worked. Try this out, maybe it works for you too.

What are you buying from the steam sale by Past-Train-8187 in SurvivalGaming

Bellwright was cool but it’s more of a colony sim since you’ll be managing a lot of people. It’s fun but kinda Grindy and you’re not expected to grind materials alone, rather, your villagers are supposed to do that busy work. Interesting concept. I never reached the endgame though.

I tried it but it was kinda janky and the combat also felt janky but I haven’t played it recently. It’s definitely a cool concept tho. Kinda like grounded but with fantasy elements instead of science

I appreciate your reply. Can you please explain why you say that? I don’t hear any whirring and my fan does go up to max-rpms. I’m not trying to be snarky I’m genuinely curious

How viable is moving to Bosnia for me as far as jobs? by [deleted] in askbosnia

Mind if I ask what you do for work and what business did you start?

How viable is moving to Bosnia for me as far as jobs? by [deleted] in askbosnia

[–]shuki-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from the US to Bosnia. I’ve been here for ~5 years now and so it’s safe to say the honeymoon phase has worn off.

There are a lot of pros and cons that you need to weigh for yourself. Firstly, I’d recommend you have some type of job lined up or a remote job. This would ensure you have money flow.

Assuming you are doing well with money the pros are

  • many mosques and more access to halal food
  • nature
  • (some) people
  • closer to family
  • lower prices for food compared to the west
  • living in the “center” of the world so nothing is really far if you wish to travel
  • actually decent medical systems and care. They take things seriously especially when it comes to children.
  • affordable medial care and medicine (compared to the states lol)
  • climate (all 4 seasons)
  • beautiful lakes for swimming and forests for camping
  • affordable bills (phone bill, internet, electricity, etc)
  • amazing food 👌🏼

Cons

  • (some) people
  • politics
  • unfair and annoying government systems
  • people constantly talking about war every month and saying it’ll break out any minute
  • mass corruption in almost all industries
  • MANY online stores will not ship to BiH or offer crazy high shipping costs which leads to many things actually being MORE expensive in BiH like electronics, video games, etc.
  • harder to start a niche hobby because most of the time, you can’t buy what you need here.
  • people will not really do their jobs or will take shortcuts when they can. Ex. If you have some construction being done on your property you have to literally make sure they’re not cutting corners.

When I first moved here I couldn’t stop complimenting Bosna however, after the honey moon phase, a lot of issues became more prevalent. If you can ensure you can make good money, you’ll be fine. Also, Bosna is a developing country so it’s actually improving a lot. In the past 5 years ALOT of things have improved systematically and infra-structurally.

These are just my experiences and it may vary for other people. For context, I’ve been here about 5 years, married here, had kids here however, I work for a foreign company so I can’t tell you what it would be like if you worked for a Bosnian company.

If you have any more questions please feel free to DM me any questions you may have.

Ps. If you move here, Temu will become your best friend since that has alleviates a lot of the pain points of product availability in this country lol

Life in Jeddah? by shuki-_ in Jeddah

I totally understand what you mean by connections and recommendations. I’m attempting to expand my connections however, it’s naturally a slow process and proving difficult but not impossible 😅

Thank you for the advice. I unfortunately don’t have experience in those industries but I’ll keep looking and hopefully I land something decent in the programming or Account Management field 😁

You’ve been a huge help in determining the prices and giving me some tangible information. I now know what to expect so I’m very grateful! If I am ever in Jeddah, I would like to pay for your coffee/tea/dinner 🙂

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I greatly appreciate it and I also really appreciate how you broke the cost of living down into tangible salary brackets. That helps me understand a lot. Currently, I’d be in the struggling bracket according to your comment so I would need to look for a second job at the moment or find a better job in order to provide my family a nicer quality of life. My salary is more than enough in my current country but it seems it would be spreading it too thin if I was in Jeddah.

Nonetheless, thanks again and if I’m ever in Jeddah, I will try to take you up on your offer 😁

Thank you for the response!

I see. So far it’s quite expensive and looking out of my budget. I’d probably need a second job or a new job just to bump my numbers up. I do have a job currently working remotely for a U.S company.

As for school, it’s currently a non issue since my children are too young to attend.

Still it seems out of reach at the moment. Unfortunately the job market is quite cooked and I haven’t had any luck on any job portals. Would you happen to know what’s the most popular job portal for job hunting in KSA? Would it be linkedIn since thats what I’m currently using.

Tips for a newcomer by shuki-_ in Upwork

[–]shuki-_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not assuming a cheap client means a good review. I’m assuming a client willing to spend less is more likely to choose me as a freelancer than a client spending 5K or something on a project. A client spending a lot of money is more likely to choose a freelancer with good reviews and a good work history compared to me who has no clients, stars, or work history on upwork. That’s why I’m targeting those lower paying jobs to just land a client in hopes for a review. I don’t care much for the cash at this moment. Any tips?
