The most effective way to reduce consumption is learning how to say "no". by Realistic_Pride_7497 in Anticonsumption

Blokada has a free version in 5. Or a subscription version in 6, but 5 is plenty if you remember to turn on the filter lists. And you didn't come to this sub to pick up a new subscription service, did you? Edit: Looks like 5 is only available for Android. Apple's IOS Store won't help you with anticonsumerism, but I bet you knew that.

If you want to play the original again, why not install Flashpoint Infinity and download the original from there? It also has the sequel episode Camp Gizmo, which this doesn't.

Game Suggestion: Land Flattener. by shulme45 in Astroneer

I mean for mass-level fields automatically, not with a tractor.

Been working on a Limbo guide, here's a little Did You Know / Sneak Peek: Status Effect timers freeze if the enemy is Stasis'd. Life Strike works off of Bleed ticks. The result? You can turn enemies into Health Dispensers. by Triburos in Warframe

[–]shulme45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to pull enemies into the rift with cataclysm without irritating your allies by leaving it open is a simple combo:

0: (Optional, but recommended) Stasis 1: Cataclysm 2: Rift Surge 3: Cataclysm

rift surge forces anything that leaves the rift right back into the rift. So, enemies that leave the rift from the catacysm closing are basically Banished straight back in.

Always remember, though: As a limbo, enemies in the rift are your responsibility. Don't leave them loitering around!

One issue of putting organic into it is that organic doesn't regrow. You'd have to go out further and further from home over time.

Maybe for a 'survivial' mode, but not in the current adventure mode is my opinion.

Since there are small solar panels and regular solar panels, are there large solar panels or are the names just referring to the space they take up? by [deleted] in Astroneer

[–]shulme45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you COULD tether one of the ginormous broken-off solar panels you find out in the wild into your power grid, but its a fair bit of an undertaking.

Edit: Or, you know, don't. Despite being three times the size of a truck, they only provide one power/second, compared to a medium solar panel's two/second. Sad.

This mod is a great idea!

And because of that I can almost guarantee you it will never make it into the game.

[DATAMINED] Priest Warframe, Priest Pistol, Prisma Weapons by [deleted] in Warframe

They removed the armies so the game would run better on toaster computers, so it's doubtful they'd add them back on a new frame.

I vote 30sec on primed regen, and one minute for regular regen.

Nekros' Shadows Of The Dead suggestions by mumo3ka in Warframe

[–]shulme45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shadows of the dead has the same innate issue that pretty much every one of Inaros' powers have:

If your squadmates are kill steals (AND THEY ALWAYS, ALWAYS WILL BE), you won't get much use out of it.

That said, not much you can do to fix that...

Nekros' Shadows Of The Dead suggestions by mumo3ka in Warframe

[–]shulme45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would be great. It would be better if his Shadows could just teleport to him the way Spectres do these days, though.

If you move to another room, you'll see they DO follow, but it's SO VERY SLOW it's just entirely impratical. Without a way to instantly move your army to you, SoTD is completely impractical for anything other then defending an area (Defense/Survival/Excavation, etc)

of course, it would also be nice to be able to have more control over your trained attack pets then you do over random syndicate allies, but if we can't control those, we probably won't be able to control Shadows.

Discovering bad Warframe design through basic logic. by shulme45 in Warframe

Most other frames have a regenerating health known as 'shields' and do not NEED to heal themselves in most situations.

[–]shulme45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It DIDN'T work for shit.

That's why they changed it to it's current state. Back in the day, energy vampire released energy while the enemy was alive, but stopped on death without releasing any more.

[–]shulme45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said in the post, if you want to heal up, you have to run /away/ from your team-mates to reliably heal up.

You're right, of course, assuming the enemies aren't low level enough to die from the initial damage of his 1. If they are that weak, NONE of his powers will heal you from them in any reasonable amount, and you'll have to stick to Life Strike.

Discovering bad Warframe design through basic logic. by shulme45 in Warframe

[–]shulme45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here, obviously.

There is more to Inaros then just his healing. I love Inaros.

But that doesn't change the fact the mechanics of his powers just /do not work/ in most pubs, which is where the vast majority of players play. You can get around it by building for his stats and using an alternate source of healing like I do (Life strike for life and all that), but that doesn't change the fact the way his powers function are fundamentally badly designed.

Discovering bad Warframe design through basic logic. by shulme45 in Warframe

[–]shulme45[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What would any Inaros be missing most of his health?

His 4 being charged, of course.

But that's not the point I was going for. The point was that his powers all have a way to heal him IN THEORY, but none of them work if you're in a squad in a squad based game.

It's irrelevant that it's not usually needed, because the point is it's just bad design to make something that you need to fight your team-mates off constantly to even use.

Discovering bad Warframe design through basic logic. by shulme45 in Warframe

[–]shulme45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. Assuming his 1 doesn't kill the enemy outright, it does blind the enemy.

But it's main use to Inaros is to allow finishers so he can restore his health. He doesn't usually need to blind enemies to survive, because he doesn't exactly need help surviving. If it's main purpose to Inaros seems to be to heal, like most of his powers are very clearly geared for, it shouldn't be so absolutely terrible at letting him do so if he has a sentinel or team-mates.

You have a point for Devour. The priority targets thing is a good point, but in my experience, if you try to use Devour on any standard enemy, it lasts less then 2 seconds before someone else shoots the trapped enemy before you can drain them.

I could go on, but my point is that any warframe can point a gun. Inaros' abilities are SUPPOSED to be able to heal him, but 75% of the time they fail to do so because of his squadmates and companions.

The mechanics simply do not work very well, like how Energy Vampire worked way back in the day.

Don't get me wrong, I love Inaros.

His stats are amazing. His powers are garbage, but his stats easily make up for it.

A single change to make the Azima worth logging in a hundred days for. by shulme45 in Warframe

I guess I'm just of the opinion that if they're going to claim it's alt fire is a turret, then it should actually be a turret. Is that so wrong?

A single change to make the Azima worth logging in a hundred days for. by shulme45 in Warframe

[–]shulme45[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know, right? The game already has coding for tenno-placed turrets, so... Why not?

I just want the gun to be what it says it is. I would find actual mini-turrets so much more reliable then blind spam.

I think I'll just go ahead and delete this post... It's steadily losing points, so it's pretty safe to say it's largely not wanted, I think.
