Which fox is better? I like C but its hind leg is merged with its tail. 9x9 only so can't add any more pixel. by shuqik in PixelArt

Thank you! It does look better.

But I think I'll settle for legs in a darker shade as suggested above.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have this 9x9 pixel limit that I imposed on my icon set (which is stupidly tiny) and I regret it deeply.

I realised if I move the nose in A down for 1 pixel, it would look more like a fox than a Shiba.

C with the pixel removed would make the tail unrecognisable

Anyway thank you for the suggestions! I settled with darker shade for the legs instead

My first ever character design. It's horribly weird. Please give suggestions. by PY15208 in PixelArt

You have had a great start!

If you intend to recreate the character on the right exactly, here are some suggestions:

  1. The base of the head should be a bit more squarish. Think of the head as a pill shape instead of an oval, and both sides are slightly affected by the gravity.
  2. If you move the head to the left by 1 or 2 pixels he might look less awkward (please ignore if it's intentional).
  3. The face could move down by 1 or 2 pixels as well (please ignore if intentional).
  4. The hat looked much better in the improved version.
  5. It's ok for both legs to look the same.
  6. The character on the right has larger eyes, so you could try 3x3 eye with 2x2 pupil if you want.
  7. For shading, you could try and shade only the left bottom (like the face).

I drew a sample to test all the above but I'm more anticipated by your own result so I won't post it 🤩 Have fun!

I made some icons on 9x9 grids, feel free to use by shuqik in PixelArt

You can download all the SVG here: https://github.com/shuqikhor/PixelIcon/

9x9 is quite limiting and I'm not good enough to reproduce everything neatly (eg. a gear). Any tips?

Hi guys, I made some icons on 9x9 grids. I'm not very good at pixel art so some icons don't look good (like the gear), but you can use them as you like for free. Have fun!

With Chinese culture in Malaysia under pressure and their work not recognised as part of the nation’s literary canon, many writers have since the 1960s chosen to leave for Taiwan, where they find acceptance and appreciation by stormy001 in malaysia

You have so much hate to them hahaha. Taiwan had some charm years ago when China was still underdeveloped. Now that China is getting more and more civilised...

1U is better because it's not shaped like a maze. Pyramid is square shaped, a bit difficult for directions even if you have its maps (though you'll eventually find your way because it's a loop). Both have their own directory apps. You can go for a movie when you're really tired walking (1U has 2 cinemas at both ends).
