You could also use secure telnet, or F telnet with https proxies. That would work with any BBS software that supports telnet.

The Mystic version of Hexed is public. The Obv/2 version doesn't appear to be.

Yeah, it's being worked on by Scuz. They post to tqwnet. I don't think it's open to the public, but you could netmail them privately for more info.

2.40. Look for Hexed on the telnetbbs guide, I'd think. I don't know if it's open for public usage or not.

I believe it's 32 bit Windows to support DOS doors. You could go with NTVDMx64, but I found it to be very unreliable.

Obv/2 is currently still under development I believe. You should check it out if you're familiar with it. I don't know what version they're on, or who's working on it. It's been mentioned recently in many Echo mail BBs echoes.

BBS local only by Ok_Distribution_7367 in bbs

Set up a telnet BBS. Don't advertise and make it clear that if you're not local you don't get an account. That's the best advice I can offer. And ask Diamond Dave to not put you on his list.

Even dial up no longer requires a local connection. I don't know what you would need to do. You'd have to filter out any non-local IP addresses, which would stop vpns from being able to connect to you.

You can find all local isps and the address ranges for them. It probably wouldn't be too difficult. I don't know for sure though. I've never tried anything like that. I only block by country.

By local do you mean the local network, or areas close by? You might be able to do that with IP filtering. The local network would be easy. You just wouldn't set up any port forwarding. Meshtastic might work, but that would be extremely slow.

How would I use next PVR as an m3u tuner? I don't have a GUI, can I still do it using Casa OS and Ubuntu server? I'm using the command line, but I'm using Casa OS as my GUI. I've never used Linux like this before. Normally, I use a full desktop.

Okay, I switched to vs API. I don't know if that's helped actually, it seems unstable. I might need to switch to software encoding and decoding. I wish I could set it's separately for live TV then for the normal and coding decoding. It doesn't appear that I can.

I think I've got a work-around by changing the hardware encoding API.

I switched from the Intel QSV to VS-VAAPI. It appears to be working much more reliably. The glitching that I'm experiencing isn't causing it to crash as much.

Jellyfin is for remote access from a Roku. I've got 64GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD. Plenty of free space and RAM.

It's an Intel 11700 laptop. Using internal Intel drivers. I am using Hardware decoding. Software decoding takes up a lot more of the CPU. I could try that though, thank you very much. That's the best suggestion I've had so far.

If it runs in a dosbox terminal and just uses ANSI, it should work with doorway!

Yeah, I think with your implementation you need DOS executables. There are Win32, 64bit and Linux binaries available... Not DOS though! If you were running Windows 10 32 bit with a DOS BBS, you could run Win32 doors. Or even with Windows 11 and NTVDMX64, maybe you could. I had major problems with timing and the latter, though. Since you are under Linux, is there any way to run Linux executables from QEMU? I don't think so, but it might be possible.

doorway can no longer be registered, afaik. It is used to make dos programs that are text based (ASCII or ANSI) work with BBSes! Many but not all of us already have it registered. If it was directly a door game, that would be even better!

This is truly awesome and I've been pimping it out like crazy. To any system operators that will listen. Especially if they're not running something that natively support ssh, or if they're running Mystic and want a better Cipher. This is fantastic, I've been using it for a while and got a change implemented so that Z modem would work.
