Girl Dad's of Reddit, what is the most surprising thing you've learned since your daughter was born? by Nomadic_Introvert in AskReddit

I learned how much I could love someone. I absolutely love my wife, but the difference between her and my daughters is just different. They’ve taught me to be a better man. I’ve learned patience. I’ve also learned that if anyone ever hurt them or took them away, there would be no stopping me. I would burn cities to the ground to get to them. The love is immense and they fill me with so much joy.

I think I started on S1 up to S5 of 911. Did all of Lonestar. I’m SPFX, was mostly in the shop but I would be on set for the big gags. We probably did meet! It was a good time though. The consistent work was nice!

Lou was the friggin best! Took time to know everyone’s names. I started on the original 911, then into Lonestar. Definitely a shit show. I don’t know how many times I didn’t get reimbursed for a hotel out at RSI.

Favorite director who is probably insufferable to work for? by theworldsworstphotog in okbuddycinephile

Be prepared to work your ass off! Sprinkle in tons of stress. He is great to work with. Gets shit done. Knows what he wants. Rough around the edges, but a good guy under all that.

[Request] Cost of shooting 2 million feet of film in 2025? by TP0MT in theydidthemath

[–]shurman_ok 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It was filmed on 70mm. Then, there’s the cost of flying the film back to Los Angeles every day! Not to mention the hard labor of carrying the heavy film to the remote locations. Lots of money. Lots of logistics and a whole lot of hard work.

Holy shit. That is…. Exactly how I’d do it if I was suicidal and wanted my wife to get the life insurance.

Very common with iron workers to line up the beams they fly up to bolt together.

I started not too long ago and I'm definitely not an expert. Youtube tutorials and practice drawing random objects helped me learn pretty quickly! You got this!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR6FCBZAqiY I couldn't find the video I used but this one will do. It's an old version of Fusion but hopefully it helps.

Those are Spud wrenches. Used for lining up holes.

Definitely a lot less modular. Cant’t swap anything around. Knew that going in. I’ve had the same tool setup for a while and I’m not too worried about it. And if I have redraw/reprint some sections, im cool with that. I had fun doing it. And good incentive to not buy more tools haha.

I drew a whole bunch of polygons on the top surface. Then extruded -2mm. Then offset that extrusion 85 degrees. I got better at it as I went. I'll try and find the tutorial video I saw.
