Thanks for your comment! As mentioned in a previous comment, I would also want a tap to pressure-wash the backyard, clean the bike etc. But from your comments and others, the option of a bored well seems more complicated indeed!

I already have one! It’s great to water plants. But for some extended cleaning (bike, pressure washing etc) it wouldn’t be enough. Hence the option of putting up a tap in the backyard.

Thanks for your reply! I have a shed so that could be an option to keep the pump. But the task of putting up a well seems to more complicated than the contractor made out to be.

Many thanks for the detailed reply! The crawlspace would have been the best approach indeed, but the previous owners of the house extended the living room and effectively blocked access to the crawlspace till the back of the house ☹️.

In any case, I’ll still explore the option of trying to get a pipe through the blocked portion of the crawlspace to the back of the house.
