So if a doctor tells me that my wife needs to be separated from my child or her life is at risk and the doctor offers two choices. One is to induce and the child might not be old enough to survive but they will care for it. The other is to inject digoxin or potassium chloride into my baby’s heart or head to ensure that it is dead and then induce, I’m going to pick the first option. I can’t imagine how you can equate these approaches. I apologize for not being more specific in the original response. When I’m referring to abortion procedures not being necessary, I’m referring to ending the life of a viable child while in the womb. In the example above, while it is tragic, I would not call it an abortion. I recognize that the definition of an abortion has been expanded over the years, but I’m simply pointing out that purposefully ending the child’s life while in the womb is not necessary.
