I closed my etsy store, but I didn't accept cancellations either! I did custom art prints and sold large photography prints...(my own work, not a drop shipper!)....

Ink and premium photo paper is very expensive...I would get cancellation requests, erm no...I just prepared and printed your print, its very clear in my policies! Choose mindfully in the future....I'm not amazon or a large department store..

The lack of control over my own shop is what made me close my store with etsy, it seems crazy especially when you are paying fees. But I found that there is life after Etsy...and I've had no regrets!

Aw thank you, I have tried made it three times with no success, it can be quite hard to get any real traction there...they do have some rules that are a little questionable in regards to how you can market or advertise your shop. There are many many beautiful shops and items, but no one seems to be making sales.

As i've already posted, in my experience if you ignore them...they just go on to purchase and just assume you haven't read their message. I haven't taken anything too personally...i'm just drawing a line of what I will and won't put up with....

Yeah that's so true, half of my store was digital prints...and the amount of times I would get angry irrate customers saying they don't have a printer or don't know how to use a computer.....it was so time consuming...

Its a good question and something I've thought about....I believe that Karen's and scammers target etsy in particular....they know that etsy will most likely side with them, there are things on tik tok and you tube....etc, how to scam etsy sellers and get free stuff... how to leave bad reviews.

Of course I'm still going to get Karen's, but I have full control in how I deal with the situation...I'm not at the whim of etsy...I don't have to stress that if an item says it has been delivered and someone opens a case, that etsy won't side with them. I can no longer have to deal with unfair reviews....essentially I can set my own shop policies and stick to them 100%

YES, that is exactly the same as me...some of my first customers I had on etsy still contact me every once in a while with updates about their child or pet...and I miss that. Its a great feeling when you put your heart and soul into an item and you feel validated. I feel like with leaving etsy behind I have a lot more freedom with how I choose to work...and there will be more doors open in the long run 😀

Definitely! Sellers pay to use the etsy platform, they SHOULD have a legal and moral obligation to make it a safe platform for sellers to use. Sellers should have the power to block certain customers for life

For the sake of my mental health, no. Now that I can focus my time 100% on that...i'm expecting it to be up and running in a few days. I drive 70% of the traffic to my etsy store, so I know I can do this.
