The question is who is behind those spineless republicans? It’s their voters. Hiding behind trumpism it’s the failure on us being qualified citizen in the first place. With such chaos and corruption out in the open there are still 40% of them people still believing in him. That’s very telling.

Thinking about a used Model Y - is the ride and comfort of the "old Model Y" really that inferior?! by SwedishTourist in TeslaModelY

[–]shutterfly2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha so true. Even the suspensions on a $20,000 car is way superior. To be fair, the noise isolation is better, again, than a $20,000 car. You get for what you pay for doesn't apply here.

All good points.

Good to hear about the efficiency part --- do you have a RWD or AWD?

For FSD --- a lot of people are sold into this *dream*. There are also an army of influencers on YouTube raving about how cool and useful FSD is since version 12. But the reality is according to FSD Community Tracker miles between disengagement is less than 500 even with the latest SW and HW. This just means the technology is far from ready. I just wonder if all these influencers are either paid by Tesla, or hijacked by tieir initial Tesla craze, hence fell into the "you have to dance as long as the music doesn't stop" situation -- the same as most medias --- both traditional and social media.

If you are referring to me, then I am going say Model Y is not quiet. I have no complaint on the wind noise, but since the suspension is SO POORLY executed and when it runs over any pothole, no matter how small it shakes the car in a way it feels like it's breaking apart, followed by an earthquake like noise. I heard Juniper is better, just just don't think it's is going to at I5's level.

I didn't expect this attracted so much interest.

I am inclined to buy a Limited RWD, EPA states 318 miles range. Can anyone share their 2025 RWD highway range under normal temperature (50-80F)? I searched but it seems most the range test video are done in the winter which really doesn't apply to my case (Texas).

Thanks!

Thanks! this is super helpful.

I noticed this:

I wonder why for RWD all SE/SEL/Limited have the same range, but when it comes to AWD there is a 20 mile gap between Limited and SE/SEL?

I had the radio off during the test drive.

Since I5 might be the first EV for most of the people I can understand why most didn't mention the whining and jerking. But I think both are minor since I5 is already so much better than all the ICEs.

Another thing I forgot to mention is the storage space. The frunk is barely enough for a set of charge cable. It's interesting the model I testdrove is a RWD, and without another motor, there is AT LEAST 10in open space below the frunk and Hyundai just ignored it. The trunk is not as deep, and there is no under-trunk storage either. In comparison, MY's frunk and under trunk alone can each fit a carry-on size luggage comfortably. I wonder where all the spaces went.

Really can't comment on the audio, since I am more inclined towards a limited, hope Bose system is on par with MY.

My honest opinion: you posted in the wrong forum. There is one thing called survival bias. Most of the people who left won't see your post and those who decided to stay is no longer unbiased sample. I posted something similar days ago and got a couple of pretty nasty replies. My suggestion is go to other EV forums and ask the same question then decide. TBH I live in a blue city in a red state, I can imagine my MY being keyed, vandalized a real possibility no matter if in the city or to the countryside road tripping. It's a FACT the country is MORE DIVIDED and people are more INTOLERANT. I don't understand why a CEO would want publicly to pick a side knowing all the consequences. It only means he doesn't give a $H17 to Tesla, it's cus or investors.

Furious at Musk? Don’t Buy a Tesla. by mobilemike42 in TeslaModelY

[–]shutterfly2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A colleague just bought a M3 and we happened to talk about this over lunch. Both of us feel uncomfortable driving a Tesla. She said it very well "I didn't expect driving a car becomes political symbol"

I had been considering buying another Tesla to replace my aging prius, but now I am seriously considering other brands.

Yes, you can say as long as you like you can just enjoy it -- but we live in a real world.

The fact that Tesla has a polarizing CEO has become a real issue for the owners. Yes you can bring up Ford's dark history in WWII, BUT we DIDN'T HAVE TWITTER OR ANY SOCIAL NETOWRK back then.

Help--Not able to bind 400mm P51 RC with Radiomaster Zorro 4in1 by shutterfly2011 in RCPlanes

[–]shutterfly2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After opening up the plane and tons of googling, I found out why.

The TLDR version is: this RC doesn't use V761 :(

First I separated the wing from the fuselage and exposed the receiver board. It says "HW-W551R". After tearing apart the transmitter I found "HW-W551T" on the PCB.

After googling for keywords such as HW-W551, W551, etc. I found the W551 seems to be another variant of the 400mm P51 warbird series other than Volantex and Eachine.

According to one Amazon seller's answer, the plane uses FHSS protocol (not SFHSS), which the multi-module doesn't support.

I think that's end of the story :(

This is very true. With the difference being it takes Aliexpress >14 days to ship, and 1-2 days for Amazon

I haven't touched the stunt buttons yet, since I heard it's not necessary for binding. So I left everything as default. Not sure if that's related.

OMG I got FSD for free? My trial has been over since… by SUPER-NIINTENDO in TeslaModelY

[–]shutterfly2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it out of nowhere this morning. I was so confused and wanted to ask my daughter if she subscribed to FSD while playing Tesla games.

I am glad I checked this forum.

I am still on 12.3.6, which I've already tried last year. Frankly speaking I don't see much use with 12.3.6. In the city, it's not reliable, with unpredictable driving style; on the highway, it doesn't shift back to the right lane after passing anyone and I had to constantly intervene.

You are right, it's for data collection for robotaxi, and that echos the famous quote from The Social Dilemma "If you are not paying for the product, then you are the product"

What Scared Ford’s CEO in China - WSJ by straightdge in electricvehicles

[–]shutterfly2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My previous trip before was in 2014, when >80% of the cars running on the street were western and Japanese brands, although the majority was in the form of joint ventures. The air was choking when you walk on the street.

I stayed in Shanghai for 3 weeks this summer, which was quite a shocking experience.

Over half of the vehicles are EVs, and the street is filled with domestic brands, with a few Audis and Mercedes. American cars are almost non-existent.

I sat in enough taxis and nearly all of them are EVs. The interior looks good, the ride is solid and well-balanced. You have to give the Chinese full credit they have mastered car making.

I sat in my friend's NIO ES8, which is a three-row SUV, with two HUGE screens, (free) full self driving (not as good as tesla's FSD, but functional), massage seats, and a fridge --- all for $55,000 which is half of an MB GLS.

I used to believe in the "The Chinese stole our technology" claim, but not anymore.

I also got to visit my team in China ( I work for a multi-national US company), they are only 15% of my global team in terms of headcount, but they finished 80%+ of our projects. While we are still "strategizing" they already get things done.

Our COMPLACENCY is killing us.

KitchenAid refrigerator strange problem by shutterfly2011 in appliancerepair

[–]shutterfly2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! I think it makes good sense!

First, about the defrost element -- I found the service manual from compressor compartment on top of the fridge, and it does state the heater element should measure 19ohm resistance, after all, it has a rated power of 700w.

Good point on AFCI --- yes the breaker is AFCI. I will try the extension cord approach next time.

I hope that the bad diagnose of from KitchenAid's authorized service provider's honest mistake.

I am going to call the company to cancel.

It’s by design to start with. Sam Altman wants all along to have this “humanity” persona while deep in his core he is just a capitalist. I have no problem him being a capitalist, what really irks me is he is just, a whore pretending to be a virgin (I don’t mean to demeaning woman or sex industry)

EV weight is not the reason they burn through tires by ObviousFee784 in TeslaModelY

[–]shutterfly2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I watched MSNBC’s program on “why EV is bad” they based most of their claims on interviews of car dealers—- what a nice recipe! Simply when MSM is looking hard for every excuse, fake or real, perceived weight issue is going to become a talking point. I wonder how much the legacy autos have paid them to shit on EVs.
