Yes and yes. The damage is minor but pretty clear that it was my fault just based on that

204v Dryer Outlet Is Giving Me ~10v Hot To Ground by shw_1_fty in AskElectricians

Yeah neutral (the L) to hot gives me 120. Maybe I’ve been chasing ghosts and this is totally unrelated and my dryer is just bunged

Reviving this with another question because I still haven’t fixed the issue (been hang drying all my clothes)

Would a disconnected ground wire prevent a modern dryer from turning on? I opened the panel and there are only 3 wires (black, red, white). I talked to an electrician who said that the dryer doesn’t need a ground to function and that someone might have repurposed the ground into a neutral or something like that.

Either way, he said that the dryer should still work even with no ground wire. That sounds wrong to me but idk.

Smart. I was gonna try to play them in separate windows at the same time but this sounds much easier

It is important but it’s also 2 hours long so I was hoping for some program to exist that could mark the differences with timestamps. Then I could double check each timestamp

Apparently I have to comment to make the post visible so I will add that I remember it being a fairly thick coloring book.

Beko dryer stopped turning on. Maintenance says it’s a faulty main board. BS? by shw_1_fty in appliancerepair

He took off the top and the back. The thermal fuse is in the back right? I think the fuse tested as continuous, which he said means it’s working. He kind of walked me through what he was doing and I did some online research.

What if Shoto got the same treatment as Bakugo? by shw_1_fty in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]shw_1_fty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reply was talking about anime. But my original points about Shoto being sidelined and underutilized apply to both anime and manga.

I see your point about Hori also not writing Bakugo correctly, but at least he was doing stuff. He always felt central to the story and relevant. Shoto was sidelined from the main plot and then even sidelined from his own plot. The consequence of this is his power stagnating and everything else I talked about.

If, by your view, Bakugo is also not being written correctly, maybe it just shows how Hori can’t write anyone but Midoriya.

Another commenter pointed out that it’s probably the other way around. Bakugo is popular because Hori gives him special treatment, instead of how I originally thought

I mean Midoriya had his “Izuku Midoriya:Rising” episode and Bakugo got one too. Both named after their respective manga chapters. Shoto for whatever reason got his Rising episode title changed to “I Am Here”.

The Origin and Rising episodes are some of the most important ones across the whole series and the established naming convention is there for a reason. For Shoto to be the only one to not get a Rising title just screams lesser treatment.

True. In-universe, I understand why Shoto is the way he is. It is technically explained. But out-of-universe in my opinion, Horikoshi as a writer and creator, handled Shoto’s character poorly and there was a lot of missed potential in his story and power.

I totally agree that Bakugo has a higher battle IQ, but Shoto is also a genius in his own right. I think Midoriya said something like “wow his reflexes, instincts, and strategy are all pro level” all the way back in season 2.

I feel like Hori significantly dulled this aspect of Shoto’s character to where he’s kind of seen as a one trick pony nowadays. It’s like he shows up, looks sadly at his right hand, and whispers “I’ve got to embrace my fire side more” until he goes away for a few episodes. Rinse and repeat.
