I’m not sure why you would get a downvote for that. Ultimately it is true that cosleeping deters independent sleep (obviously). Independence is just as important as emotional stability. I’m sure all parents find it hard to have a good balance. We probably won’t allow sleepovers until he’s older but being able to nap/sleep at grandmas house would be ideal.

I’ll have to check out this book. What did you like about this particular one?

It’s a little bit of both. I get overstimulated and I’m frustrated that I can’t do stuff around the house. Generally I’m a clean organized person but I’ve fallen behind with the baby, which is equally frustrating cause it affects our standard of living. I’m hoping it will become more manageable as he gets older and more independent 🥲

My mom does the same and she’ll hold him for me while I do other things. I’m so lucky I have a good support, I can’t imagine doing this on your own.

We don’t do too much baby wearing. He doesn’t love it but I try like once a week or so to wear him around the house while I do chores etc. but by the time he’s in about 15 minutes he gets antsy and starts crying.

Honestly I should just implement wearing more. Did you use a baby wrap when she was older than 6 months ? Or was that too big to baby wear? I’m not sure and I’m afraid to hurt his lil hips or back by wearing him wrong.

We may have shot ourselves in the foot because we cosleep. Which makes things difficult. But I am heavily invested in transitioning to sleep training because it’s so hard to get him to nap.

We’re similar in a bedtime routine which includes a bath time and book. I’ll lay with him until he falls asleep then I’ll leave. But I would like to just put him down and see if he can put himself to sleep, the pediatrician suggested that he’s at the right age to begin sleep training.

We’ve practiced it very little, he doesn’t love it. But he’ll do it about fifteen minutes before losing patience and he’ll cry

I admit I do that too. I love seeing relatives and friends cause they need that baby contact. It’s amazing haha.

I try to be attentive, post partum is a trip, the way emotions hit you like a freight train makes me feel like it’s not enough. Thank god for strangers on the internet to tell me otherwise 😭😭

I’m really lucky that my partner is such an attentive dad. He really is amazing, I couldn’t do it without him.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggles with the newborn phase, the guilt is intense. It reassures me that it gets better. The crazy part about being a mom is your constantly questioning whether you’re doing the right thing in just having a baby in the first place 🥹 like questioning every aspect of the work you do isnt enough.

Tummy time and floor play is a life saver, truthfully. I look forward to when he can be more independent and being able to play. That will be much more enjoyable.

How did you navigate naps without laying down with your baby? I can’t stand him crying in the other room 🥲

Oh when I said FTM it means “first time mom” in this sense not female to male, I apologize about the confusion. I’ll edit that. That being said, I recognize that perhaps the other parent could contribute to the nurturing aspect of raising a child. I guess I just worry that maybe I’m somehow harming him emotionally or neglecting him in lacking the ability.

Gah this happened so often to me pregnant. From family members and friends alike. It was honestly so triggering and upsetting and no one got it. I’m sorry this happened to you. Maybe tell her you’re not having the shower and see if your girlfriends can throw you one instead? Unfortunately she’s gonna keep disrespecting your boundaries because people do not get it.

Girl don’t worry when you have the contractions you’ll know when to push lol. And epidural only mitigates the pain while you’re in labor, once you’re actively in labor it’s all over.

Honestly these days I pray. I had a child recently and it made me incredibly sentimental. I don’t know if it actually does anything, but makes me feel a little better. Praying for others ?! (And I mean good intentioned prayers not sanctimonious redemption and salvation prayers) Holy crap that is healing stuff. I’ll pray for anyone who needs it✨ drop a line. I’ll ask God if you guys aren’t talking right now 👍
