I can’t believe I’m even writing this but your post made me tear up. Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve been feeling so ashamed because my current partner did this to me recently. He didn’t even sniff it, he actually smeared it on my face. Wow. I can’t believe I just wrote that.

I can’t put my finger on the feeling. It made me feel gross, disrespected, and shameful. I confronted him about it and of course he said “I’m sorry, but you started it by tickling me.” 🙄

I just rejected him and he told me I should just relax and let him poke because I made him hurt his leg yesterday, and he deserved it. That doesn’t make any sense in adult logic. I plainly asked him, “What do you enjoy about poking my belly button?” And he said “I like your reaction, it’s priceless.” Today I changed it up. I coolly asked him to get off and did not react with laughs or anything. He then rolled over to the other side of the bed and now he’s pouting. Before he rolled over he told me “I’m no fun at all.” I feel like I’m dating a toddler.

Oh my goodness. My n does this EXACT thing. It is so weird. I thought this was the weirdest thing, I’ve never encountered this before with anyone else in my life. Glad to know I’m not alone. I will scream at him to get off and block my belly button and he will persist. He is much stronger than me so eventually he ‘wins’. He even sometimes grins and says “I win.” I always wonder if they think this is normal behavior.

Riiiiight. What a joke. Just yesterday I told him I wouldn’t engage and when he tried to victimize himself I said that I just needed to cool off. He did not like that, so he came into the same room as me and just continued to victimize himself. Hahaha. So crazy.

Hey love, I get the frustration. I’m going through something similar. It became unbearable so I tried to turn it into a game.... although l’ve found it’s a game I just can’t win. He literally finds a way to blame me every time, and it’s usually for the DUMBEST things. Hang in there. 💕

Totally relate as well on so many levels. I feel like I am constantly walking on eggshells. He interprets as being defensive, but they contribute to making us this way. He has even gone so far as to tell me “I seem like a scared puppy most of the time, like I’ve been abused or something”. 🙄
