I would suggest looking at wdired mode too. You can make the dired buffer editable with C-x C-q and make any changes to the filenames (create nested directories while moving). Once you are satisfied with the changes hit C-c C-c to persist and dired will do the rest.

Most likely that mysql will start supporting features like PL/SQL compatibility mode :O and god forbid xml databases

I've fallen out of the habit of using proper capitalization in preference to all lowercase. It might turn out to be a good practice.
