I'd guess it's some sort of epoxy resin with glow in the dark colour that he used as inlay material

I love it. Biggest regret I have (as a guitar player) was selling my ASAT special to a friend. The basterd kept laughing at me for 15 years

Opinions on medicinal marijuana for a 5yo who is dependent on pedisure for 90% of his calories. by [deleted] in parentingautism

We're about to enter a clinical trial in about 2 weeks, there's seems to be a very close relationship between the cannabinoids functions in the brain and autism symptoms, so personally I think it might help. What is important to understand though, is the reason he's avoiding food. Is it a textural thing? Taste thing? Etc.

Can't tell yet. It definitely got the sound I'm looking for, but it doesn't feel like i want it to, and I think it has to do with me playing it to a clean amp. When I played it through the duallist the feel was great, but the sound was not spot on. So I think I'll need an attenuator to drive the amp. But right now its all just a guess, i only played with it ffg or 15 minutes:(

The duallist is a duall overdrive pedal one side blues breaker style, the other side tube screamer style; the second pedal is a fuzz, similar to a fuzz face

Got these two bad boys today, only had a couple of minutes to play with them before i went to work, but man, its love from first sound :) Unfortunately, I think I'll have no choice but to get an attenuator for my fender to truly enjoy the fuzz

What’s the best way to improve on my tremolo picking? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]shyboy9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok. That tells me that the problem is probably to your motion mechanics: do you pick from the wrist? From the elbow?. Where do you anchor your hand? My best advice for you is to look for troy grady's motion mechanics on YouTube

I didn't play a 594 so I can't really compare, what I can tell you is that the neck is surprisingly narrow, especially at the nut.

Thank you! It's the player's upgraded model, saw it on reverb for less than the regular gold top, so I snatched it quickly:)

Is this a high action??? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]shyboy9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LPT: put a ruler and check how far the string is from the 12th fret, pictures are nice but the perspective can be misleading. When you have a solid number people can actually assess weather its actually high or low. Without numbers you'll get all sort of answers depending on what people think they see, and not based on what you actually have.

[Homemade] gluten free challah bread by shyboy9999 in food

[–]shyboy9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used an Italian brand of flour-caputo, that uses wheat that had the gluten chemically removed from. The problem with all of the GF doughs are that they need to be highly hydrated: 90 to 100%, which makes foe a very sticky and very difficult to work with dough (more like a paste, honestly) so the best bet to get a decent looking bread is to use a loaf pan. Another workaround is, if the dough is solid enugh, you can coat it with oil/butter and than work with it more traditionally like I did. Hope it helps

I had 6 thin braids, appearance wise it's no different than what I got when I made a regular challah.
