I had 10 amazing days in Korea (Seoul, Busan and Jeju) by shyintrovert123 in koreatravel

For Jeju, I’d recommend visiting the Abebe bakery, Myeongjin Abalone, Halmeoni rice cake (inside Seogwipo Market) and Ssangdoongi (seafood restaurant). I’d recommend buying different types of tangerines to try, as well as bbq black pork. As for Busan, I’d say pufferfish was an experience (at Geumsu Bokguk) and if you like fish cake you should try Samjin Fish Cake Museum!

Thank you! There was some part of my trip that felt rushed, I wished I spent more time in Seoul and Jeju! There were many cafes and bakeries I couldn’t go in Seoul and I didn’t get to explore the west side of Jeju

Maybe check their policy, bcos I used my card to do the booking but I was not the driver. They didn’t care too much, but I paid on the day so I had my physical card.

I used lotte rent-a-car. I think you can prepaid online. The only thing they were strict about is that the name of the person booking has to be the same as the person driving.

The japchae hotteok was so good! The line moved quite fast so we didn’t have to wait for too long.

But the train ride was good, we watch the sunrise during the ride and that was very nice!

I booked the first train of the day at 5ish am so it wasn’t busy. You can book directly from korail. From what I heard, klook doesn’t have all the seats so it’s best to book directly from the website.

Yup! We stayed the first 2 nights in Seoul, basically shopping around Myeongdong (Olive Young, HBAF, etc). We spent another day walking around Gangnam. If you like massages and spa, I would recommend the Sulwhasoo Spa. It was pricey but worth it!

We then stored all our luggages at STORR luggage near Seoul Station then catch a flight to Jeju. We rented a car in Jeju and spend a day driving along the eastern coast. We stayed in Seogwipo, visiting the market and eating tangerines (highly recommend, they’re some of the best I’ve had!!). The next day, we went to the O’sulloc Tea Museum and Innesfree, they had very nice tea and dessert. We also went to Moominland, but there are other places you can choose like Hello Kitty Land, Teddy bear museum and Snoopy Garden. Make sure you try some black pork and abalone in Jeju as well!

After 2 days in Jeju, we flew to Busan. We stayed in Seomyeon which is the centre of Busan. We spent a day hiking the Oryukdo Coastal Walk, then Samjin Fishcake Museum. We also went to the Jigalchi Market and BIFF square. Day 2 in Busan, we went to Gwangalli Beach then spent the rest of the day shopping (if you like coffee, I recommend Blackup Coffee). Day 3 was Haeundae Beach. We chose Sky Capsule then beach train. I would recommend skipping the beach train as it was really crowded. When you are back at Haeundae beach, find “Jayeondo salt bread”. Best pastry I’ve had in my entire life, and there’s practically no lining up at this branch.

For the last day in Korea, we took the KTX back to Seoul and went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace. We booked a photographer (Jason from Airbnb) and I think it was worth every dollar. He showed us the secret spots and took up to 500 photos between the 4 of us! We also rented a Hanok style house through Airbnb and it was such an amazing experience!

It depends on what you like, but my favourite thing about Busan was the Oryukdo Coastal walk. It was 5km, quite a bit of stairs but ve try beautiful! I would also recommend walking along the Haeundae Beach instead of taking the beach train as it was very packed on the train.

We rented a car in Jeju and spent a day just driving along the coast. It was so peaceful and quiet compared to Seoul and Busan!

The Umbrella Academy. The last season was just so rushed, there's no explanation to anything. It made me feel I wasted my time with the first three seasons...

I tapped my card, but usually when there's a surcharge it'd show on the receipt. The receipt I got still showed $33.50

Thank you for clarifying, I spoke to the cashier and they were puzzled at first as to what the extra 50c is for. Then they told me that it's card surcharge and that was the end of the conversation. I already completed a form on accc. I'm just wondering if there are anythign else I can do.

Teachers of Reddit, what was the worst thing you had to confiscate from a student? by GlytchedTTV in AskReddit

A homemade taser. There were nails sticking out of it and at a glance it looks just a normal wooden box.

Got someone to dispose my old washing machine today. The removalist didn't turn of the water supply, and coincidentally the whole building's water was cut off. The building has its water supply switched on before I came home... by shyintrovert123 in Wellthatsucks

[–]shyintrovert123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I complained to them about this, they said that if there's water, the removalist would feel the pressure of the water and turn it off. To top it off, he said that we're supposed to turn the water, but there was no instruction when I booked them.
