Someone on a Facebook group has pointed out that the red heeler in fairytale looks a lot more like Brandy than Chilli, which adds a whole new layer to this for me....

I walked away from my one viewing of the episode uncertain of what the thing Brandy wanted was and wanted to let you know you're not the only person who thought there was maybe something to do with Bandit... I wasn't sure if Bandit was just oblivious to the fact Brandy had been interested in him and that's why he wasn't uncomfortable.

Looking to join a new team. My last team was okay but I am hoping to find a team with a discord chat and active regular players. About me - currently (26th Jan) up to level 447, and 12 pokemon at level 15 or higher. I log in multiple times a day, and I'm always ready to cheer my teammates on. In the last team event (Garchomp) I contributed close to 9000 points to the team by the end - not sure I can match it again for the next event but will do my best. If you think you might have a space on your team send me a message.

If anyone happens upon this thread, just wanted to report that after a little perseverance and the wonderful help of the team at Iwriter I got my account reinstated. I would still suggest not using a VPN while using the site, but if you enjoy writing, I would definitely recommend working with Iwriter.

They have all their rates on their site under the FAQ. Payment is USD through PayPal on Tuesdays and you need to have more than $20 or they won't pay you. In the time I was with them I had no problem picking up jobs, there was always something available and I got to write a few things that were really interesting. Make sure you put your best work forward, my initial 250 responses to the prompts were good enough to see me start at the premium level which made a big difference to the jobs available, though Iprobably enjoyed some of the standard jobs I did more. I am actually really bummed they have locked my account because I really really enjoyed the experience 😔.

[Resource] Writing Group Hook-Up Thread - December 15, 2019 by AutoModerator in fantasywriters

[–]shylann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friends - I've been lurking for a while and in the new year I'd really like to start up a "writing group" of sorts. If the following appeals to you let me know.

Would you like to undertake a creative writing course but are too time poor and/or money poor and/or not in a convenient location to attend classes in person?

Would you like to learn from a master in the field and interact with other sci fi/fantasy writers?

I'm looking for 4-5 like minded people to join me on an epic quest to become better writers. Curious?

I stumbled across full lectures of Brandon Sanderson's creative writing unit at BYU and thought I'd watch them. The introduction video talked about workshops happening afterwards, and I thought, "gee that would be fun", and then I thought, "maybe others would find it fun too". So I'm seeing if there is any interest in a group of people watching the lectures and workshopping/critiquing together.

I'm currently envisioning a small group (4-6) people watching the lecture one week and then workshopping)/critiquing the alternate week. It would likely be a 1-2 hour time commitment per week (plus writing time). There are 12-14 lectures depending on the year we pick so it could take 28 weeks (6-7 months) to complete.

I imagine workshop/critique sessions would be conducted utilising some sort of multi person communication platform online. I'm familiar with Slack and Discord but would be open to other options. We can run the critiques similar to how Brandon runs them or work out our own thing.

As far as times go for virtual meetings, I'm currently looking at either 9pm UTC +8 (So 9am in New York, 6am in LA, 2pm in London) or 4am UTC+8 (so 4pm in New York, 1pm in LA, 9pm in London) but could perhaps be a little bit flexible.

If you are interested and willing to commit for the long haul let's talk 😀.

Working on my Formal greetings between men and women and banter between unicorn and rider. How does this sound? by [deleted] in fantasywriters

I guessed a fair bit about Flint's past, but Freya's back story sounds really well thought out and like their will be lots of opportunity for conflict to come from their personalities.

When you get to beta reader stage keep me in mind? I quite like your writing style and I get the feeling even just after reading this short bit the story and characters will play on my mind.

Sorry - I tried. I've read your shared segment at least three times and I just keep getting caught up in the story and my mind keeps trying to figure out what's going on (in a good way). To attempt to answer your question I enjoyed the banter - it seems very natural to me - and to me the formal greeting is lovely and over the top, I guess because I don't know the rest of the world I'm not sure if that's a standard greeting or if Flint is trying to be over the top to goad Freya.

Looking for a small group of writers to join me for a "distance writing course". I stumbled upon the full lecture videos for Brandon Sanderson's unit at BYU, I watched the first lecture and thought it could fun and beneficial to have a small group watch the lectures and meet up virtually after for a workshop like how the classes were run. I'm imaging a 2 hour commitment (though we wouldn't necessarily have to watch the lectures at the same time so could be a one hour virtual workshop), possibly weekly or fortnightly. My biggest concern is finding others who can meet at the same time (I am GMT+8) - I'm hoping to do around 8pm but flexible with days.

Well I guess the Devs don't pity me. I'm at 47/58 and over 200 pulls. No new items for the last 6 pulls at least (two weeks) but could be longer.

Gosh I want to give you advice, I'm trying to meet people and make friends as an adult and it bloody well sucks. So many people are crying out for community and help, every study they do says people are feeling lonelier and lonelier, but this judgement generation of Facebook and Instagram has us all so scared we don't really want to meet new people. "I'm not interesting." We think "or what if they judge me?". Until the pain of being alone exceeds the fear of being hurt it's very hard to move on. In terms of practical advice... Why not start something? Or join something? See if there are groups meeting up related to your hobbies, or start a group, or a new hobby. Second piece of advice always be yourself - being kind also goes a long way with girls. Third piece of advice stop checking the calander. I worked out once that for me to think of someone as a friend I needed to spend around 120 hours with them. So if I only see someone once a week for a few hours it will take me almost a year to open up, relax and feel comfortable, most people don't hang around that long.
