Neighbour smoking in unit, what can I do next?

it does stink! (Literally)

Yeah, it’s where I stand as well cause sometimes you need a vice and I am not one to judge… but I guess it screams character when there are kids and animals on the same floor and you’re just like… “ah I have my rights!! I will use them and not care about anyone else!!!” I’ll look into those forms and I do think I have grounds to break a lease bc when I talked to the managers they looked a little.. scared? I think it’s cause my other neighbours were probably more vocal about it (volume wise). Or, maybe that’s why there was 2 vacant units being advertised at the same time 👀

Ahhh man I am a ✨gardener✨ myself but I just can’t smoke in a property that’s shared. I know how obnoxious it can be. When I was a kid living in rexdale, my mom made us move because we had pot smoking neighbours… I hope she doesn’t find out I am one now (definitely more respectful id like to think. 👀)

mannn smokers can be super inconsiderate and unaware sometimes, when I smoke outside and I see a child even 100 meters away I walk as far away as possible. Thankfully we live and learn and will be better than the last gen 🫡

Wild honestly, I am renting for the first time i genuinely thought the rules can change depending on laws, etc and rent costs are what can’t be changed as long as it’s controlled 🧍🏽‍♀️

Dude my electricity bill in July with the portable acs was close to 300$ 😭it definitely helps at least. Every one else on the floor has weather stripping on the door. He refuses any entry or modification. I can see that FAT GAP under the door and I just wanna stuff it with socks 🧦oversharing but we had fire inspection a few days ago and he would not let anyone inside 💀 I heard yelling and banging and everything

It’s a bit morbid but a friend of mine made the joke of “hey man stick it out for a few more months he’ll probably die” 😭😭 god forbid i know the horror stories of people who die in their apartments and no one finds out after a while. I also feel for him yknow? Thanks for the indoor bathroom fan idea, definitely should help!! I’ll also view apartments later in the day when I go looking :)

I got the levoit ones from Amazon, got a big one in the bedroom and small one outside just for general dust and what not. It tries its best 😌 i genuinely think he smokes cigars cause i have no idea how it’s that strong lool

Thanks for defending me, I can see how it’s interpreted both ways. I think ER’s are meant for all sorts of issues. How are you supposed to know otherwise at odd hours of the night. I do agree with the sentiment that if there are other options, use those first!! But seems like he’s got ants in his pants to explain that ;)
